"Pretty good."

by: Fro
date: February 15, 2009

It's nice to have some nicely drawn backgrounds like you had in this one. It was a great Futurama parody also. The voices were still great. I couldn't even tell that someone did one of the lines for you.

Pretty decent animation in this submission. I didn't really come on the internet too much until 2008 so I never really ran into the Snakes on a Plane internet fad. Lucky me. I did happen to see a little bit of the movie though and it does suck.

Back then, Chuck Norris jokes were EVERYWHERE! Now, it's not so bad but we have to worry about the over 9000 and sparta fads. :(

Hey, why does the Bahamut in your "Bahamut Presents" intro logo shimmer as the "TIE Fighter going by" sound effect plays, BTW? It's a nice intro logo, BTW.

12/31/2006 at 11:59PM... just like your Christmas flash was set at 11:59PM on Christmas Eve... why is everything in your flashes always starting at 11:59PMs? #;-}>

LOL! hahahah..... you fling yourself backwards in a somersault for no apparent reason into the time-freezy chambery sorta thingie, eh? But to no avail. Countdown to 2007.... shall not be averted for ye. OH WELLS. Nice Futurama parody and all, but I was kinda hoping that meant you put some Futurama characters in there as well, not just yourself as a stand-in for Fry. #;-}>

TIE Fighter? lolol. I don't know about that, but the sound effect does sound very much like something from RPG Maker.

Yeah, that is true. These flashes like to take place on 11:59PM. Maybe I get out of that habit? Nah. :p

I was actually thinking about making an actual Futurama parody for 2008, but decided to not do it for a few reasons:

1. Too much drawing and animating to do.
2. I felt like what I would have done on the parody would have been butchering Futurama and I hate to ruin such a great show.
3. The plot was bollocks.

But maybe in a few years time, I might make a Futurama parody. :)

"Satisfactory."

date: March 4, 2008

Well, this wasn't too bad Bahamut -- this one had actual voice acting, and as such, I enjoyed it more... but the story was truly too boring (I was thinking of using "convoluted", but I decided a more simple word was better for a more simple flash) to keep my attention.

Bahamut, this time you got onto a weird ship thing, had a corny Snakes on a Plane note, got locked in a cryogenic chamber, and counted down the New Year. Sadly, I didn't laugh once, save at the variety of stupid characters counting down the New Year -- but the other jokes felt like misses to me... sorry (SOAP completely missed this time 'round).

The voice acting was so much better than the Speakonia though, that I gave this flash high marks anyways.

Cheers!
(This marks my tenth review of your flashes [oh yeah!] -- only seventy-two more to go!... well, seventy-three on Friday, you bastard. :P)

90% of my flashes since Bahamut: ATWI80D 03 are Speakonia free! :D

Heh, nice Futurama parody. And I know it's hard waking up and then realizing that it's suddendly 2007...

The backgrounds were quite nice and I liked that "Get the motherfucking snakes out of that motherfucking plane!"-thing.

Hope to see a 2008-flash from you, too ;) .

As always your voice acting is awesome. "what the crap?" that was a funny line. Background drawings were quite good. Nice New years flash. I hope you keep making more. It was funny at the end when he yelled "no" as he found out it was the year 2007. Nice work.

Author's Response:

I definitely will make more flashes, although I doubt I will make a new year 2008 flash that's a Futurama parody like this one was. Thanks for the review. :)

The drawing of the cryogenic tubes was just amazing, something no one else could do on Flash (except maybe Krinkels). I loved it when the famous phrase "Welcome to the World of Tommorow!" was said, and Bahamut responded with "shut up". That was friggin' hilarious!

Author's Response:

"The drawing of the cryogenic tubes was just amazing"

Actually, I got a little help of drawing the Cryogenic Chambers from some screenshots. I'd love to draw more stuff from Futurama, but I probably won't ever animate the characters because my skills at Flash aren't good enough yet and I'd rather not wreck the look of the characters.

But you liked this flash, so that's good. :)

"nonsensical"

by: Bezman
date: January 14, 2007

Wow!

Firstly - congrats on 1st submission of 2007.

Some thoughts:

+++ Fairly detailed bg compared to your usual stuff. In all fairness though, it should be, considering its screentime...

-- I'd still really like to see some shading on your stuff.

++ Message joke.

+++++ End joke

-- I felt the 'framing' at the end could have been better - a bit more dramatic. Like when shouting, the 'camera' could have maybe been behind you and shown the balloon simultaneously.

++ Clear voices.

Question: who is it that's meant to be saying, 'welcome to the world of tomorrow'?

==
A little bit of nonsensical stuff, a fairly obvious parody, but the script and all was well timed and I really chuckled at the end. Loved it!

You've got a new fan.

Yay. :D About the "Welcome to the world of tomorrow" guy, that's the character Terry from Futurama who is seen on a few episodes.
