"Not bad, needs some work though."

A great game in virtually every aspect, for walk through, Berder’s is the most useful I saw. So I’ll simply review the actual game, visually speaking most of the motion was realistic enough, it looked normal considering it’s pretty damn hard to draw and animate so much details, and it’s hard to capture human motion well enough. But beside that it seemed like The suffering meets Doom, in a flash version. Even though it was easier. Gladly loosing isn’t really possible for all I could see. I’m just wondering why wouldn’t the prisoner comb the beast…The background music was alright but nothing that gets you into that state of mind really. The voices were fine, but the acting was more or less a disaster…I just wasn’t convinced by anything any one said. A sane person wouldn’t really care if a box of matches belongs to some one when there is a large beast walking around eating people. But the clean hand thing was funny, I really wanted to freak the guard out by waving the hand instead of slapping him, but oh well. Interactivity had all the things I like usually, like talking about random objects that have nothing to do with anything, like soaping other prisoners and stuff. Violence was hardly even there…Oh wait, yes it was, actually it’s the main theme here. Lots of blood shed and insane acts, gruesome sights, but only if you are one of those people who have a problem with blood. I actually think the only time the violence was pushed more than usual, was with the guards head as a ceiling in the control room, the rest seemed average. Humor is there and it doesn’t take long to find it either: “Pick up mutilated guard”, “Which part”. Though I think leaving the hand on the first guard that was chopped would be smarter. Diversity Originality…Well if the prisoner was the beast, this would be “The Suffering”. But since it’s in flash, I have to give you credit for making minor efforts, minor, on changing the outline. And generally, an extended story line, perhaps not so much copied, a couple new jokes and better acting and this well be much better. Still a good game that deserves its position, congratulations.
Now for stats and stuff:
Graphics: 9, Well the drawings and animation did look well there was a bit of problems for me with the motion, it just didn’t seem that real, I’m not expecting it to be phenomenal, but I did expect a bit more than it was.
Style: 6, A point and click role playing game, a rather short one at that. To be honest too much of it just felt like it was copied from licensed games and glued back in a flash version. Originality is quite lacking but a bit of creative writing and plot twists of your own wouldn’t hurt. Just that now it follows the plot of the game all too much.
Sound: 7, The background music was good, though not the most fitting for what is supposed to project some feeling of terror. It just didn’t get me into the state of mind of fear at all. An increasing pace in music speed and volume usually helps develop that feeling, take that under consideration if you will.
Violence: 10, Not something you want to let the kids play in. especially with the after questions and nightmares…Just an average violent game as the prison way of presenting a sarcastic figure trying to escape against all odds, the known cliché.
Interactivity: 8, it had the options I usually like from this sort of game, which is interacting with things and people who are really of no use or purpose except for the fun of it. I mean, what’s funnier than commanding a prisoner to soap up a large beast chewing on some dude.
Humor: 9, As I said before, the sarcasm thing can be found quickly and easily in this game, and while the writing wasn’t that bad, the acting was pretty crappy really, contact the union :-P
Overall: 10, good game, may not sound too much like it by my review, but I do in fact like it and only had a couple suggestions on how to improve it. I enjoyed playing it for those brief 6 minutes and I hope you continue and make more and hopefully better games in the near future.
