"Awsome Idea, and good execution!"

date: November 4, 2006

How often does that happen? I've only gotten to the level where you are swallowed -(save feature plz!), but I'm addicted to it.
Yes, there are problems, but nothing that bad when you consider the uniqueness.
The controls are clumbsy, but I'm not sure how to fix it. If you gave his feet more momentum, you could walk faster by 'throwing' his feet and doing a cart wheel. I try this, and it works sometimes, but other times the feet stop moving as soon as I release the mouse.
I have no idea how difficult this would be, but attatching web to web would give it a whole nother level to it.
The instructions could be a little more clear, not for movement, but for things like, "don't stretch to far really fast or you will get hurt", or saying what those blue bird things are for in the floating island level.
Someone said that the -adws- keys were useless. Well, I found them immensly helpfull, and also really awful. Very usefull for swinging or reaching far away, but even clumbsier and less consistant than the main controls.
So either they need to be removed if it will make the game smoother, or preferably, refined for better handleing.

All in all this is an amazing game, and I could see this as a RETAIL game if it was improved somewhat. Seriously, I'd pay to have this on the gameboy if there were enough levels.

Please add a save feature, and if at all possible, a sequal. I can see this as another 'Alein Homonid".
Great game!

"This is the best game of all time"

date: November 4, 2006

Just... the interactivity was great. I never expected this much from a flash game. You two should definitely remain as a team. I never did find out how to use the web thing, but everything was just great. Awesome job. Plus, this really shows how you get alot less votes and views by not being front-page featured. Good job! I'll be waiting patiently for the sequel. Yeah. Sequel.

"You make a sequal, or die!!!"

date: November 4, 2006

that was just amazing!!!

I love this game! I have never played anything like it!

few things though that would be nice to see in the sequal.

the dood, he could do with being a bit stiffer. He jsut flops araound all the time, and it gets kind of iritating when he just will not stop flapping like a spastic.

the webs! Just amazing this was! there are times though when the game fixes it down in the wrong place, it dose not spoil that game, but it looks a bit odd when u have a point of the web that is not stuck anything but thin air!
It would also be realy cool if you could stick the web to the web, thus letting you play around a lot more with it.
may be have the abilatiy to shoot the web out, so that you can then swing across gaps.
And if you do do that, then have the web only get longer when you hold down a key, so you can drop down with much more grace

some sort of primative level diseign would be fun, so that you can set out an area to play in, or maybe just have some free paly levels. this will also help people get to grips with the controls, which are jsut awsome once you get used to them.

I feel that the wasd keys dont play the much of a feture in the game, so if it would help performance to get rid of them, i dont think they will be missed.

you definutly have to do a save feture, my broswer crashed jsut as i go to the level where you have to swing acros the gaps, which was not fun!

as far as i am concerned, there is nothing wrong with this game, just things that could be added in to make it that little bit better.

well done!

"Great but lacking"

date: November 4, 2006

Great game, awesome concept. Its a bit hard to get the controls at first, but then once you do its a great game. I agree that it should have a save feature. Thats about all it lacks really. The music goes well with the game. I can honestly see myself playing this game a lot lol. Keep up the good work ^^

"Awesome"

date: November 4, 2006

Excellent idea, controls were a little awkward at first, but become fairly natural very quickly, good visuals: an overall awesome game. Only complaint is a small one: i would have liked a save feature, because the game was kinda long. But despite that, still amazing.

"This flash is absolutly reaking with emotion"

date: November 3, 2006

I cant believe how you could have thought of such an idea, and then produced it so well. Excellent concept, excellent gameplay.
And the emotion it shows is spectacular. The hardships of a mother tri achnid trying to save her young. I love the music and the sound.
Everything is just beutiful.
Though at the moment i dont think its current score is what it deserves. It is much too low. It also should have been deserving of an award. I shall five it and add it to my favourites.

One downfall was the difficulty.
It was much too hard and as a result, i enjoyed it just that little bit less.

Thanks for the experience.

"Thoughtful, classy, and fun."

by: jaauba

Tri-achnid is a rare gem. You can tell that oh so very much thought went into this one.

Graphics- Very much in sync with each other, creating a uniform style. Overall, a slightly gothic landscape of sepia and muted colors. Simple but polished. Apart from several pixelated shading foreground images, very nice.

Sound: I can see why someone would choose this music. It very much resonates with the sepia/toned down color environment. The sad, willowy tunes make a player sympathys with the tri-arachnid, a creature whose appearance might otherwise suggest the antagonist.
(Alas, it does get kind of repetative after a while)

Violence: Sharp objects hurt you, tiny creatures attack you, you can eat said tiny creatures, slamming legs down hurts you, stomach acid kills you, etc.
Everything here is a show of nature's indifference. The violence is not unnecessarily gory or gross. Nothing to warrant more than an E rating.

Humor: Kind of funny in a twisted, cute way. Nothing in the vein of ZOMGLOLLERS, but then, it's not trying to be.

Style/Interactivity: This game is ambitious, but the controls seem to fall short of the goal. The legs move clunkily, and at first it seems impossible to control the damned thing. But even though it is a bit clunky, (okay, really clunky at times,) the feel of the game is FUN. This kind of movement is mostly unprecidented, so it isn't much of a stretch to expect issues, like the camera problems that the first 3d systems had. And lots of fun 'powers' that the tri-achnid have make the game a blast. (A tip: Wrap the egg sack in webbing to keep it from flopping to its doom. :)
The whole thing comes together in a really cool way. It would make a great DS game.

Overall, 10/10. Despite its flaws, it shines so well, that I couldn't bring myself to give it anything less.
