this has been one of the most moving flash movies i have ever seen on newgrounds (well any movie for that matter). you truly are a genius. i absolutly love the movies you make. the ending was very good because its not a hollywood ending like 99% of movies out there. very, very well done.

This was an amazing series; you tied the beginning directly to the end perfectly. The music was just right for each scene. I really liked the long flashback at the start of the series and how it just comes right back at the end, just cant get over that. Good job man!!!

A brilliant end to a fantastic series. Congratulations on creating such a fantastic Flash Series, and for starting a mini 'craze' about a darker Mario series. Those inspired by this are good, but none, and I mean none can compare to this. Well done, and I hope to see more submissions to this kind of standard, whether sprite or not. And i hope u dont lose interest in sprite movies, especially with classic Mario, because nothing can compare to a sprite movie when done as well as this. Keep up the good work!!

"I thought ROMK was good"

The day this movie was released was the day Randy Solem got his ass kicked.
The ending is the way i like to see a movie end (That means an impossible sequel) but If you used 32bit graphics (like ROMK) you could remake the whole series and using the 32 bit mario you could create more emotion to his face overall making it an even better series than it already is!!
Keep up the awesome work!!

That was a great flash. It's too bad Mario and the princess died to end it, but, that doesn't matter. This almost made me cry, in a good way. Dude, this is your best one yet, no matter what else I say. I give you major props for this movie and a thumbs up.

After watching hours upon hours of sprite movies, I believed for a moment that all innovation was lost. Though it seems you have taken a lighthearted plot, and transformed it into something tragic and beautiful. I can understand that a few people will not like this, and I'm sure you will understand that too, but I truly believe this flash is one of the greatest I will ever see.
