I don't care how much some people hate emos. Frankly speaking, I am occasionally annoyed by the trend, and I don't need to hear about how horrid your life is because some guy you dated for a week dumped you.
HOWEVER, in the event that something happens that is actually horrible and scarring, I think people should have the right to express themselves by being depressed, wearing black, what have you. Self-mutilation, however, is not the way to go. Get help, not edged objects.
Yes, the flash was somewhat amusing, but it was also somewhat offensive to a large group of people I know personally.
