The main rule behind this game is to juggle things around.
What this means is you cannot run 3 cows per field you have for them. You cannot always have growth hormones being pumped into the cows. You cannot always have a polition being payed off, etc.
Keep extra field space, yeah it will eat money, but only having one cow per field will still eventually destroy that bit of land unless you clear it out and let it go back up to 100% fertility.
You'll probably want to keep one advertisement going at all times. If trouble suddenly pops up, you'll want to run a 2nd, maybe even a 3rd avertisement until things blow over. Advertisements are only good to keep all 3 registers in the storefront going. If you don't have 3 lines, you'll need another advertisement.
Bribes work in a very simple manner. Wait for the big trouble warning to pop, then bribe the proper department. You might have to keep the bribe going for the entire course of play, but you don't need to start the bribes as soon as the game starts.
Feeding and slaughtering of the cows is probably the biggest trap that exists in the game. You do not want to do anything in the feedlots except growth hormones and killing diseased cows. If you do anything else you will get a bunch of diseased cows that will put you out of business one way or another.
The only thing that you must keep running all the time is the actual storefront, but even then you can hit points where you do not need three grill workers. This will usually happen if you have alot of events that slow customer pace into the store. If you have 3 solid lines, you'll need 3 grill and 3 cashiers. If you have 3 solid lines and an excess of 300 hamburgers already made? You can layoff one of those grill workers to save some money. Once you see the stockpile of burgers drop down to below 20 or so? Time to pick up another person for the grills.
