"not great but nor bad"

date: June 9, 2007

i think that if you had more games that were known to our time like mario (NES) or something that would really bring out the game... other than that i like what you put into it. Just more games that are not so low

"Ok it sounds good but it doesn't work well"

date: April 19, 2007

Intro:
Yeh ok 70 games retro remakes sounds awesone but it's not half the games don't work so not really any use?

Graphics (3/10):
I thought they might be alittle up-to-date and the games are really slow and I can't be bothered with debugging.

Style (7/10):
70+ games is alot to offer and this is certainly a great idea.

Sound (3/10):
Beep. Beep. Booooooop! Yeh definatly retro.

Violence (0/10):
Well come on?

Interactivity (7/10):
Apart from the un-playable games yeh this is pretty interactive.

Humour (0/10):
0! This is definatly not a laughing matter! (Pun)
Yeh, um, well none of the retro games are funny.

Final Verdict (5/10):
This needs some serious work done to it. But I will give you 5 for content amount, effort and orgininality (Flash emulator with 70 games is orginal).

Author's Response:

This is a real emulator, not a remake... so graphics are the same as the original. There are improvements, such as everything being run from arrows + space (original had a 16 key keyboard). But other than that, the emulator is as accurate as I can make it. If it's slow, however, you can go into the debugger and increase the emulation speed.

"too buggy"

date: March 20, 2007

lots of bugs in the games and i really was annoyed with the pac-man clone because most of the time the ghost just move back and forth between one spot and dont come after you and when i get the power pellet thing i cant even tell that i can eat the ghosts.

Author's Response:

Those are all from the original games. This is a real emulator that runs the "roms" of the old games, not a remake.
Sure, there's some improvements (keyboard mapping to arrows + space on most games) but otherwise you get the whole retro experience... bugs and all.

"PLEASE READ!!!"

date: January 5, 2007

What is the actionspricpting for your favorite game in here? Please respond!

Author's Response:

There is none. This is an emulator, and each game is made in machine language using Hexadecimal code ("A0FE68C4B3AEFF03..."). You can check Wikipedia for Chip-8 if you want more technical information...

"snes!!!!!"

by: Dazmi
date: January 4, 2007

It's alright and all but...
These look like there from the '70s man!
I didn't find it fun to be honest with you

Is it possible to put SNES games on here?

Author's Response:

Well, most of the games in the *ARE* from the '70s. Others were made in the 90s (for a calculator). As for SNES games, no. Technically possible, but it would take a lot of time and won't run fast enough anyway. So not worth it.

"ok so its ment to have lots of games in one?????"

date: November 26, 2006

well for me its too complicated and whats a debugger
and seriously a 13 page instructions
sorry but yeah

Author's Response:

The games have been simplified from the original form, so that most games use the arrow keys and space bar. The 'instructions' are more an explanation of what's happening behind the scenes, you can skip them if you want.

"Good, but not a MAME replacement"

date: October 30, 2006

While this can't hold a candle to MAME, I will give it some credit for being a very flexible & versatile flash game series.

There are some issues the code that could have been pounded out to make some of the game work better, but it's pretty good as is & impressive that most of the work is done purely in Actionscript.

I'd like to see how well you can make a single flash game with graphic that are more suitable to today's expectations.

Author's Response:

If you want nicer graphics, try my little API game 'Babeball':
