This tut is very great..It help me alot..the walls tut is very detailed and much easier to understand than other tut's out there..My only problem now in my game is that.. How would my char interact with other NPC chars... Do you know how is that done?..If you know it can you please teach me how..This is my

Hi. I just got a free trial, and for some reason it won't accept ANY freakin' actionscript. It's driving me crazy because I only have 30 days trial. If someone could tell me what the hell is going on by PM, I'd be very grateful!!! Your tutorial jumps a bit ahead. Like on the frames 5 to 8 the character is just moving. You never said how to get him like that. Thanks.

This is a wonderful tutorial that really helped me out with my game programming. It's so well written and easy to understand. There are way too many tutorials out there with incomplete information or just the sidescrolling platformer controls. And I really appreciate the wall code. It's so simple and it makes perfect sense.

The only problem I had with it was the process of getting from screen to screen with the arrow keys. It's easy to accidentally skip a screen if you hold the arrow key down a bit longer. But seeing how that has nothing to do with the information in the tutorial, I still gave it 10 stars.

At first i had the same problem as some other people...

No matter wat the mc is still moving!

Then I looked at a diffrent tutoril that explaned that the instance name is diffrent the name u give it when u convert it to a symbal...

so i gave it the instance "player" (without quots) and it worked! thank you for ur help this is a great tut! i hope im helping someone by wrighting this!

this is the best tutorial iv ever read its got explanations and examples and very detailed most of the way through! this has helped me alot and iv even added a few things of my own to the rpg i made from this so far but the only problems i had is i cant seem to get the save/loading to work or the xp...but thats proboly cuz im reading sumthing wrong or forgot and instance or sumthing but if u dont mind could i pm you and discuss why its not working and mabey find a solution?

anyways everything else was pretty much crystal clear to me this was a great..no no..the best! tutorial!

This was ok, I guess. It might be the music, or my computer, but the music would get on top of itself. Also, the keys were just a LITTLE touch sensitive.

This was cool, as i was looking through the code it seemed to work i didnt try it but seems decent and good for starting even the advanced one, so nice job on it this should help many game makers you should make more to it like battles and so on, anyways nice tutorial...

Add buttons instead of right arrow clicking and such...
