"slow!"

date: November 20, 2005

Dude, I though that thing would never end, it was like 3 minutes for each scene! One gets bored of whatching the same scene still you know.
You're style is pretty generic, but good non the less and so are the graphics, the sound is good too, but you needed some music to atleast keep the viewer entertained while he whatches the boring 3 minute long scenes, the rest is pretty self explenatory.
Hey, atleast 3 sevens equals good luck.;)

The graphics could be better. Thats all the criticism I have, I liked every thing else about it. I loved your style, you had a good story, (nice and mysterious), and the sound was good. I cant wait for the continuation. Oh right, I almost forgot to mention that I didn't even notice or miss a dialogue, you know you've done well when you don't even need it to make a great flash, good job, make more!!!!!!!

"Story-driven... what a concept."

date: November 20, 2005

I'm going to hack this to pieces below, so let me get something out of the way first:

The story for this is amazingly good. There are lots of pieces on here with better graphics and better animation, but not many that have me following the storyline the way this one did.

Also, the music choices are really good. They fit nicely with the action (and/or lack thereof, during some bits) without being distracting or calling attention to themselves.

Nitpicking begins now.

The artwork quality is all over the map. Some of it (like most of the facial closeups, and the silhouette of the girl sitting up in bed) is quite good. Some of it is less good... the shot from near the guy's feet while he's sleeping in the truck bed, for instance. It's never actually BAD (all of it is better than I could do), but the inconsistency is a bit jarring.

The animation isn't as good as the art. That walking animation near the start looks weird (the buttocks don't move at all, and the legs seem almost they're made of rubber). The breathing/panting bit when the girl wakes up seems off also... I think it's that the shoulders are moving too much, and the head and chest don't seem to be moving at all. In the silhouette of the same scene, her top seems to either be missing or fit a lot tighter, and her breasts move straight up and down with no chest expansion. There are things like that throughout, I'm just mentioning a few that I can remember as being strange.

The style of the piece seems to change from "cartoony/stylized" to "realistic/representational" and back a lot. I've never cared for this, though I realize a fair amount of anime uses it, usually during the "comic relief" bits. In this piece it's not quite as overdone as the sudden shifts to SD usually are and it doesn't seem to correlate to a humorous bit, so I'm not sure if it's intentional or not.

Author's Response:

Thankyou for you input :)
Yes, it does likely jump around alot in style. I mostly worked on this in bit and pieces spread out over 2 monthes time. For instance I add maybe two scenes one day, then 2 weeks later Id come back in and add another two scenes. How I was feeling seems to show in the certain scene. Ill pay careful attention to my style consistancy.

Flawless, simply amazing. Don't continue this, too good to risk ruining, and adds to the mystery

"Interesting indeed"

this is a very interesting story from what I've seen, the weird thing on planet 3999 is kind of scary, and the crimson woman, is facinating. some voice acting I expect in the future to help tell the story better, contintue with your flashes they will surly make Front page if you keep it up.

"More episodes please..."

date: November 19, 2005

I'm not absolutely sure I'm going to agree with some of the concepts that seem to be gearing up in this story, but the story itself seems to have some excellent potential and I want to see more.

Nobody said anything... and for what's happened so far, that makes sense, as everything really is pivoting around little visual cues, which you place excellently...

Other than that, hmm... find some decent people for the voicing cause it looks like you're going to need that before you can get the next episode out... I suppose you could pull it off with pure word balloons, but I think it'd be better if they talked

Otherwise... awesome, keep up the great work.

"Great start"

date: November 19, 2005

Personally as just a watcher and not really dabbling too much into the flash artwork of it. I think it was entertaining but a bit slow in some wee small parts. Maybe as well I think that your first half had a good start of a story line. I hope to see some more. To the other flash watchers I think you should keep your "crimson eyes" on this one. A real good artist in the works. Keep up the patience and time. I for one will be following this series.

"---Front page material all the way!---"

date: November 19, 2005

Here's a rare one. Not only is it artistically beautiful, but it's NOT depressing! (Usually those two things go hand-in-hand on NG). Worth viewing... but I can't help but wonder if the girl is really human. Those eyes, and her smile at the end, creeped me out! She was looking at that guy more as food than a friend! Oh, now I can't wait to see how it turns out! Please make part 2 soon!
