"It twas alright"

by: Nizzim

This was an ok satire, the animation is a bit choppy and the skits are a tad slow at times, try tightening the loose ends on this and itll be a great series.

I made a video game related series, go check it out please

"Interesting.."

It was pretty good actually. The guy below me is ridiculously critical for writing his 1st review and probably doesn't even have the software to make any flashes of his own. But still, It was too short and not really front page material.

"A walking cliche"

date: August 8, 2005

The animation was sufficient, not good, just sufficent. The dialogue just didn't seem to work, the timing was a little off. The hole script seemed like one big cliche, just a bunch of recycled old jokes that wern't that funny to begin with. I saw every joke coming a mile away, except for the exploding baby, but how many times can we see poorly animated flash violence before it gets old? Go back to the drawing board and come up with an origional idea, this just seemed like someone put and episode from the Decline series and and episode of the family guy in a blender and gave us a cartoon that captured the humor in niether.

I really enjoyed it. I think your jokes were funny and the style was good as well. I can really identify with two buds wasting the day and talking about crap that really doesnt matter. great job and I cant wait to see more

"Drogan?"

by: NeoKal
date: August 8, 2005

Uhm... It wasn't that it was bad, it was just... Not good. I get more laughs when I cover my friends in socks while they're sleeping, and then, when someone walks in, they're all like "damnit, why's there a giant pile of socks on the bed?" And then I'm like "Cuz, Alberts underneath"..... Ahh yes, socks.

Author's Response:

while that may be funny to u that wouldnt hold up to good with a big audience. so u have fun with your socks..ill keep animating

"Not bad at all, dude."

date: August 8, 2005

Pros:
1. Most of the jokes were pretty funny
2. The exploding baby thing, pretty original (at least I think so)
3. I LOVED Vader's voice. That was awesome

Cons:
1. The sound needs ALOT of work. Sorry, but it's true.
2. The constant Minibosses songs popping up was quite irritating. They're good, but they're not THAT good. Look around on the net some, I'm sure you can find better songs. Try OverClocked Remix.
3. It was too short, but okay for a start. Try lengthing it a little bit next time.

Keep it up! Has the potential to be a good Flash series.

Author's Response:

the sound does need work. one of the people before you told me how to fix that in future eps so ill try to do so. thanx for u comments

"Just seems average..."

date: August 8, 2005

While objectively well made, this packs little beyond exploding children, a Minibosses soundtrack, and possible greatness installed for the future. This "pilot" would not sell too well to actual network executives, since it leaves a miserable first impression.

One problem is voice-overs. They aren't wooden, but technical issues immediately surface: poor mixing and quality. Adjust the clips to 24 kbps for voices and 48 kpbs for the music. In the background, use a single, muted, streamed audio loop to maintain animation speed. Streamed sounds are muffled, but force the animation to keep pace with what's happening.

Another problem lies in the script. Randomness does not equal funny without some hand-waving (quick explanation to move the script forward). Many jokes (except the Duck Hunt Dog) land gracelessly upon the pavement and grind your faces against it for fifty feet or more. And the material is uninspired; these jokes work with precise timing, but otherwise, it did not make me laugh.

Also, if it's not uninspiring, it's hackneyed. You're lucky the NG drones still buy into irony and cynicism, which dominate the site's philosophy on comedy. This flash continues that trend and follows the motions by the numbers.

And a personal gripe: you didn't introduce all the main characters, a cardinal sin for series pilots. Once again, I detect irony and cynicism. This young woman in the cast intro never made an appearance. Whether it is a failure to notify and recruit a female voice actress before production, or you deliberately tease the audience into false expectations of what's to come... you fail on both counts.

If this sounds harsh, it is. I'm tired of flash shows that parade sardonic twenty-something white males as if being a smart-ass wins you the lottery. Still, I would be infinitely impressed (and relieved) if you set out to utterly prove me wrong in the future. I don't wish for you guys to give up before trying.

2 out of 5 for decent effort.

Author's Response:

your comments are duely noted, and while ive said this accouple times. this is more of an animated comic strip than a cartoon. and hopefully in time will cement itself as and original series. not introducing all the characters was decided do to the fact that there was no real place to fit every person in. and rather than just introduce a person for the sake of there in the intro credits, i felt would of been to forced. i thank you for the info on fixin the sound. cuz as much as i tryed nothing worked so thanx for your comments.

"Nice..."

date: August 8, 2005

This was a nice piece of work. Great music selection. Animation could use some work, but nothing too bad with it. Sound was very audible. And the jokes were pretty decent. Some may say it's a decline ripoff, but you do more than just game related stuff. I don't know why, but I like the whole thing with the exploding children and the rambling little girl. I just wish it was longer, and maybe some jokes on the music business. I can only imagine what you would do with stuff on Michael Jackson and Britney Spears.

Author's Response:

great idea
