The dialogue and the shit laughs OH JESUS MAN! The lame phrases "bitch" "i got you covered" "Lets go and have lunch", dude it was effective and dare i say it EMOTIONAL until they opened their weird mouths and made sounds. Poorly scripted, the laughing is shiiiiiiiiiiiit. The animation isn't my cup of tea but takes a great deal of skill i am sure. I like the idea of the backgound style, but you coudl have taken alittle longer on them.

A missinformed and cheesy interpretation, a real shame.

From the very first scene where we are following the two boys walking towards the school with guns in their hands, it was clear that you took your ideas straight from a movie called "Elephant". From the planning scene with the map, to the blonde kid shooting the teacher and uttering "bitch", everything you did was a blatent rip off. It is way too similar, and even identical in so many aspects that it can't be denied. "Elephant" is a film by Gus Van Sant, and is based on Columbine, for anyone who wants to see it, it's a great movie.

"Elephant"

date: August 5, 2005

Although i quite like the idea of making a flash animation about columbine seeing how both guys where into drawing and flash. This doesn't tell me anything that has not already been said in a better way. Perticularly in Gus Van Sant's Elephant. Which i'm sure you've seen because you've pretty much reproduced it here. Don't immitate, innovate. Your just reproducing stuff that's already been said and seen.

also speaking facts One of the most interesting to me was that The origonal intention of the masacre was to detonate explosives around the entire premisis (that failed to go off) and was maticulously planned to maxamise the death toll. The intent was to create a catastrophy on a scale never before seen inside America in relation to the admeration they had for the nazi party and mass genocide. And at the end of the day you have a country inwhich people can order a gun to there doorstep. And frankly it was bound to happen, kids usauly act on impulses and if they have easy acess to munitions they ARE going to use them unless there are laws to stop them. There's no way to explain the reasoning for it I agree but there are certainly logical explanations for how to prevent it in the future (or certainly minimise it).

date: August 6, 2005

i'm not impressed with this at all. for such a touchy subject and reading other reviews for it i don't see why you made this flash since apparetly you didn't get the facts straight. yes the style and animation was good but perhaps instead of tryin to portray what actually happened it would have been better to express the feelings felt by the victims and the boys that did the shootings rather than try to recreate what happened. i don't see why you would wish to show the shootings when if anyone that went to the school or knew any of the victims saw this it would be upsttting and distressing. this is NOT art. it is also NOT needed.

"oh well"

date: May 30, 2006

the movie i thought was okay about the columbine thing, but i wouldnt call it a tragedy. it seemed bad at the time but that shit happens. i thought there was something a little off in the movie and then i read that psyco guy's review which named a bunch of things. i guess he says he knows the facts and since your movie was okay, it wasnt hollywood so you should prolly just stick to the facts bout what really happened, especially if you honestly believe it was a tragedy, those never need to be embellished. btw, dont take on more than u can chew. i know a lot of people give good ratings for "the amount of work" but you dont feel better if it takes you 20 minutes to shit instead of 5. well, i do feel better but thats just me. u chose to make a movie about that, so you cant say "i know its not actually creative on my part, but it was hard." you could have made a movie about clocks that speak like stephen hawking and have no point. and if i ever actually make a comment thats non-offensive, let me know, but i will say that knowing former people were actually murdered like that kind of makes it obvious the difference between all the violence on the flashes and in ur movie. and i hope that guy who's obsessed with columbine reads this review and understands if sm1 throws dogshit on you you slash their tires on the truck their daddy bought for them or smash a window on their car. Note: u cant kill them for throwing shit, i know, i got shit thrown at me by a monkey at the zoo once in front of my girlfriend and in order not to look bad i spit in his food that was lying just inside the fence on the ground. and believe you me if that fence wouldnt have been there i woulda killed that motha f***ing lemur.

"What have we here?"

date: August 8, 2005

Ho-hum
I guess it must be because I'm a limey that I'm unable to connect to the shootings on the same level as most of you guys but to me this just seems like just another piece of 'video-games-and-violent-movies-make teens-kill-people' propaganda. Humanising your villians seems to be an out moded concept to both you and your reviewers, a nation all too ready to explain events by attributing them to 'evil' people.

"Is this changing the way people feel?"

date: August 7, 2005

I can't believe some of the reviews I'm reading, people actually sympathize with the shooters and disregard the victims.

People get made fun of in highschool, and the fact that these kids resulted to a school shooting just goes to show that our generation is in trouble.

Especially the fact that a flash animation with tear jerking music makes you feel the shooting was justified, means you don't think about it realisticly.

I don't know what I'm trying to say, but people who shoot up their school because the jocks made fun of them are not people to be glorified.

"Careful What You Publish"

by: uprise
date: August 8, 2005

I would give this a better mark, but even if you think you have all the facts you're still portraying false information. Even though you claim this to be factually based, many of these facts came from unreliable sources, the ignorant, and the attention starved.

It's pretty obvious what happened and how. The sad part is that the world is becoming too superficial and critical that these things are starting to happen. And being the immitative creatures we are, like mentioned in another review, others have thought about doing the same, just because something doesn't go their way so they want selfish revenge and try to think of the most extreme way to exact it.

Truth be told, I think the entire school curriculum needs a serious adjustment because obviously the lifestyles we live today are not very enjoyable anymore. All you younger ones out there that are upset with the way things are, we are the ones that need to change it. We complain and reject these things, but we're never willing to do anything about it. So remember: There's Life After School
