"Compelling but it has been done before..."

date: August 5, 2005

Weldone guys good work. Did enjoy your flash , pacing of the piece was good and it flowed well. Only critism is that even if it was a few words some speech before they got to the school would have helped as when the first words are spoken it stands out quite a bit. The only other thing (i dont know if you are aware) is that there has already been a feature length, live action, film made on the same basis as this flash called 'Elephant (HBO films)' which follows the college kids lives on the morning of the attack and during it. If you liked this animation id recomend seeing the film to. Apart from that i think this animation is very good and i think you guys did well handling this sensitive story not glamourising violence and keeping it true to the events that took place.

"good"

date: August 5, 2005

I liked this flash, even though it is about something that is sad.
But I was also reminded of one of my fave films (Bang bang youre dead)

Good work, the only thing that spoiled it a lil was the characters stood out from the backround, but im not complaining.

"I appreciate the work and the time spent but..."

date: August 5, 2005

.. I would join -GhostMint- on the cliche (taxi driver, natural born killer). I was surprise they only played a car race and not a Doom.

I appreciate the time spent, it's a long movie, should have been a lot of work. I appreciate most the fact we never speak enough about the "columbine thing". For this u worth a 10. But personnally, i didnt like very much the graphics, that i think was a bit simples (ex miss some shadows or face expressions details). The music is good, but the voice are a bit annoying.

anyway, it worth being watched ... Thanks u

"Pretty nice but..."

date: August 5, 2005

Graphics and all that was pretty nice but...

I don't think by writing "In Memory Of ----" makes it a memory or a tribute to anybody, at least not a nice one. Recreating a bunch of people getting killed is not to remember them, its got no other purpose then entertainment.

The beginning was pretty good unlike the actually D-Day scene. Some things were very wrong. For instance, the original plan was to blow up the school and wait outside for students to run out of it and then gun them down. The bomb that they had placed in the cafeteria never detonated so they decided to walk in and go berserk instead.

"I've been waiting for this one..."

date: August 5, 2005

I've been looking forward to this film ever since you first showed me the script for it about 6-7 months ago (or longer... Can't quite remember anymore), Andy. I must say the long time spend on this film has really paid off. The graphics were beautiful. They must have taken oceans of time to create.
The animation was very smooth. Well done Mr. Alone...

The music you chose for it was beautiful and fit it very well.
At first it felt a bit weird when the characters suddenly began talking, but I can't think of any other way you could have done the last part of the film without the voice-acting. Speaking of the
voice-acting, I think it was quite good, and it ended up fitting the film nicely.
Overall I think everything was very well thought out, and done just as well.
I was a bit dissapointed when I saw that it only got a daily 2nd place, and not a daily feature. But congrats on getting it anyway.
I hope that you guys will make another collab some day. I will definately be waiting patiently for it;)

"Excellent"

Some slight flaws but nothing that detracts from the more important and emphasised scenes.

Great job.

"Great movie, as always"

date: August 5, 2005

I really like all of your movies man, good story development, all nicely done, i would rather have seen a sad and tragic ending with sad music and all, but still great. Good job, Continue to make more great stuff.
Love your work.

"I can't find the words...."

date: August 5, 2005

I can't express just how.... masterful this flash was done. It sits on a most delicate knife edge: between beauty and tragedy, between the thoughtful and the reckless, between placid calm and terrifying chaos. A masterpiece of animation which portrays the events of Columbine with a fine touch of subtlety. This is not an outright condemnation, nor does it condone what the boys did, but rather it's a call for understanding in a world that has become so very mad and strange.

I wish I could write some more on this but I think I'll go the minimalist route and just leave it here.
