always wanted to know, now i know. i agree, it would be good if you could but a back button onto it. i managed to figure out how to do sprite movies after going through this about 2 times, resetting it halfway to re-read a bit that i missed, so yea, it would be useful.
what is that yellow thing anyway?

Author's Response:

I put the "QuickJump" function to jump back to places you wanted to see after the whole thing was finished.

That was my back button, in thought, but I might go back and add them in. We'll see if it will do...

As for the "yellow thing", are you refering to Carbuncle? He's just a little critter from the game Puyo Pop!

"Thank you!"

I was digging through Newgrounds for "Sprite Tutorials" when I stumbled on this. I can't wait to give it a try. Control + B may have changed the way I look at Flash!
One thought, maybe add a Back button to the movie for us dolts who need to keep re-reading stuff to "get it".
Great Tutorial, thank you so much!

"very helpful"

date: September 7, 2006

the information was very helpful but i have a problem. when i try to break up the sprite sheet the whole sheet moves instead of the animation comming off the sheet.

Author's Response:

When you break the sheet, it doesn't neccesarily break each sprite up to use but makes the ability to harvest them availible. When you break it, just scroll from the outside of the boundries and grab what you need. Drag those sprites out to somewhere safe then delete the rest...

"Pretty good"

Not bad. it helped quite a bit. but the sprite back ground dosent match my flash back ground. can u help?

Author's Response:

After you edit out the background, there should be nothing left but the sprites anyway and that trasparent space in between them all. You'll either have to use imaging software to take off the background in one fell swoop or closly edit them on your stage.
