"Great job!"

by: Onhiro
date: September 28, 2008

I take the history of the United States very seriously, as well as war, as I'm going to be joining the military around November, but I found this hilarious. I liked all the charlies, that was funny as crap. There's no way I'd blam this great short. Great job!

"Animutation hall of fame award nominee"

date: January 2, 2008

Umm, this animutation is every bit as good as the TmsT trilogy. Graphics aren't what animutation is about. Highest points are given for creativity and comedic genius. You want eye-candy graphics, watch an anime or something. As far as the categories that count are concerned, artist Bill Volke deserves a gold plaque with Colin's head inside a sun embossed on it.

My favorite parts:
1: Zippy's reference to 'The Big Red One' Pure genius
2: "One man too few to achieve victory" I'll never be able to stop snickering thanks to that

Author's Response:

Thanks! You know, I should really get around to making another animutation. It's been far too long...

"Awesome Animutation"

date: February 10, 2006

I like Animutations that have a story behind it too, and the story was as funny as the random humor. Good job!

"Awesome animutation!!!"

date: February 7, 2006

That was an awesome animutation! Even though it isn't quite as excellent as TmsT's trilogy, it is still great. The graphics, style, sound and humor were all perfectly done! Of course, other animations have better graphics, but for an animutation, this is very good! Overall: 10/10

"Good, but not your best."

date: September 23, 2005

This is funny, but IMO it's not as good as Sting of the Stingray. Also, the song is kind of annoying. However it still rocks because it is animutation!

Author's Response:

At animutationportal.com, the new home base of animutation, Sting of the Stingray has Mostly Metal Jacket beaten by a mere 0.1 points. So it would seem that you're just about right.

"A good romp!"

date: May 7, 2005

For the life of me, I don't think I'll ever understand how Colin Mocherie has gotten into all this kooky stuff, but I sure am glad that he has! Overall, I think this was very well done, fitting to the animutation style, but still having a structured storyline to back up the crazy flashing pictures. Kudos!

P.S.: And Colin and Jesus as hippies? Brilliant!

Author's Response:

You can blame Neil Cicierega. Colin dates back all the way back to the first animutation, The Japanese Pokerap. Now he's our patron saint.

"hubba hubba zoot suit"

date: March 31, 2005

colin mochrie[colin mochrie] and zippy[zippy] join the allied fight to free vietmnam from charlie [bunch of viet cong figures]. before going, they recieve words of wisdom from a talking drill sergeant doll [drill sergeant doll], but it is not enough to save poor zippy from being explosured. a distraight colin deserts to canada using the master transport booth and gets a new hippie mentor[plastic Jesus figure]. newcomer carlton plays the sun almost as well as colin did in hyakoyygu-whats-its-face. this film is a joy for the whole family to watch over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Author's Response:

Real world misspellings of Hyakugojyuuichi:
hyakoyygu-whats-its-face
Hagoguarangi
Hakugojuuichi
Hyajewitchy

"Nice to see more animutations"

by: Zeond
date: March 16, 2005

Very well done but I can't believe you didn't kill JJ. Very catchy song.

Seriously though, did you know that Canada did not participate militarily in the Vietnam War? It's true, Canada did not send any troops, it's an urban myth that has been incorrectly perpetuated. All Canadians who fough in that war, over 30,000 of them, went there as part of the U.S. military. That's more than all of the draft dodgers who came north. As anyone versed on the Vietnam War will tell you, Canada sent the U.S. her best and received their worst.

Author's Response:

Learning is fun!
By JJ, I'll assume you mean Jesus... Jones. I didn't really feel the need to kill him off. Not everyone who the hero ends up disagreeing with has to bite it to maintain a sense of justice, and in the end Hippie Jesus is as harmless as a dead character. In refusing to have beliefs worth fighting for, he cannot cannot become good or evil.
