I admire the idea, and the graphics are nice (though Tifa's face seemed a little too rounded). But unfortunately that's about where the good ends. This gets a 10 for Interactivity (mainly because of the button glitch, which makes you interact with it even when you don't mean to), but the music/sound effects were repetitive, as was the "play". Aside from the facts that it was tentative at best and required too much trial-and-error and preparation (even with the cheat), it had too many bugs to have any business being published. Three glitches I noticed:

1) The aforementioned "button through the screen" glitch
2) When I kissed Tifa, someone else became my GF and I can't get Tifa no matter how well I do
3) Items do not appear in your inventory--originally I thought I didn't have them at all

Like someone else said, a "Leave" option would be nice, and a tutorial would be greatly appreciated, since everything is much too precise. Wait, I take that back--actually finding the girls was way too random. (Speaking of random, what's the point of that Downtown area, with the buttons that don't seem to do anything?)

Stat building was not pointless (more stats=better pay=more $ for dates), but I think you should have used an interactive system for stat-building (a swimming minigame to build strength, etc), where you got more gain for user skill, not how much HP you lost. Some date sites were too expensive, and why sell more than one gift if all you really need is one? I liked being able to save (of course you HAD to since it takes so damn long), but I hate only being able to enter cheats at the sign-up screen, when chances are a new player won't know any.

I suggest you heavily modify this game or redo it altogether. Keep in mind feedback from myself and others, ask people to demo it on your own site WHILE STILL BUILDING IT, maybe increase your skills, and I think you could go a lot further with this.

(Oh, and while you're at it, throw in some sex scenes to unlock, because I damn well want to get SOMETHING out of it after going through all of that effort. People like myself were attracted by the license, but that won't hold attention for long, not with this many faults.) If you want to keep it family friendly, make viewing "hot" scenes optional (IE: "You scored with Tifa!" [watch] [continue])

Okay, This game is just... ...terrible.

Listing things out so you could possibly see the error in your ways:
1) It's too random, going after the girl you want is nearly impossible. Finding them makes the game seem overly tedious and boring.
2) There is no "Leave them alone" option when they confront you, so I just attempted kissing all the ones I hated; Which were everyone except Garnet and Sarah. So I got alot of "OMG FREAK" responses while trying to find either Sarah or Garnet; that sucked.
3) The artwork is TERRIBLE at points. If you want to make something like this, it needs to look good. I only found Sarah and Garnet (The two I went after) to be the two best looking in the group, the rest were ugly. Way ugly.
4) There is no story. No story at all, What is this? Mindless boring game leading up to Sex? Terrible.

Overall. I give this a rating of: 5/10, Trash that took alot of effort to create. Congratulations sir, I am dissappointed.

"Decent but buggy"

I truly think this could be good, but there were alot of problems/annoyances. First of, the art was wonderful. The biggest single problem I had was that you could click buttons even if they weren't visible, I think this was a bug, bt if it was intentional then it is much too easy to just pelt the talk button and get the girl's relationship xp up, ten hit the ask button a few times, and have a close friend on the first day with no loss of cash. I also thought the stat raising was kinda pointless, but since this is a dating sim th stats are really only a secondary thing. My biggest problem wa with the actual dates, every time I started a day I would get a screen saying I had answered a question wrong, and the girl would always be at 0% no matter how much I spent on the date. You need to do perfectly on the dates, get a question wrong(Tifa said she liked strengh, but I always got that question wrong). I managed to get three dates that ended with a kiss, and the screen saying the girl was my girlfriend, but each time it didn't actualy change. I ended up with over 10000 relationship xp and three date kisses but Tifa was still only a close friend, which was a big disappointment. Overall it was a good waste of about 20-25 mins, but I am afriad of developing carpol tunel if I keep it up, the bugs make the game depressing, but it still has potential. I hope this review is more constructive criticism than complaint. And I hope you continue to make well drawn flash of this quality!

"Not Bad For a First"

I'm not one to complain, but this game is confusing.

I'm also not gonna go on a bitching world tour. I can't animate or program in flash or shockwave, but it's probably not super easy either.

Still, for a first SimDate, it's not bad. The graphics are kind of... well... yeah, for Final Fantasy they're close, but not exactly the same. Then again, you probably drew them on your own, rather than jack the images. That commends some respect.

But as for SimDates, this one is kind of boring... But it's not that bad that you should scrap it, just there's some room for improvement.

Decent game but, the music had nothing to do with the game, and u had to do an incredibly annoying amount of talking to the girls just to get all of them to New Friend level, like i said decent, but can be improved upon.
