"Excellent!"

Great work. I can imagine the tedium of having to program this, so thanks for the effort. I remember playing this game as a kid in the mid-eighties on either my dad's Macintosh or PS/2. Good Times... This is a wonderful program to engage children in an interactive literary experience. Not only is the child reading, but the story unfolds by interacting with the computer via a keyboard, as opposed to a controller. As wonderful as modern, instant-gratification games are at exercising hand-eye coordination and even spatial reasoning, old-old school games like these exercise more "right brain" faculties like imagination - imagining what the land of Great Underground Empire is like. (I always thought that, for what it was, the lore of Zork was pretty awesome).

"Thank you so much"

I love text adventures, and this must've taken forever for you to code! Great job man. I like the comedic bits, like this:

>throw knife at troll
The troll, who is remarkably coordinated, catches the nasty knife and eats it hungrily. Poor troll, he dies from an internal hemorrhage and his carcass disappears in a sinister black fog.

"OMG"

date: September 11, 2008

Wow, I have been screwing around with different versions of the Zorks for so long, and it was always right here under my nose. 2004??? Holy shit man! This is an amazing flash, and deserves more 5s than I could ever possibly give it.

I can't believe how underlooked this is. Did you really make this? It's remarkable.

The only thing it needs is documentation.

"Amazing"

How you did this... how you nearly (there is one bug when you quit one game and go into another, where it enters double commands for a bizarre reason) flawlessly fed the data of these timeless classics into the Flash format...

This is a tragedy, as it was grossly underrated, grossly unviewed, and how you, the author, are a Level 1 account who probably quit right after submitting this.

The best I can do is spread the word about this genius.

This, is the best Flash ever made.

"Ah, Zork..."

date: May 22, 2006

I knew little (believe it or not) about this series until I brought out our old atari 800 and do you know what my dad had for it, yep "Zork I" I put the floppy disk in and started playing (after it loaded of course) and I had a blast. However thinks to your fine flashwork, I can now play all three old zork games for free, and with the ability to save (I didn't have a save disk for zork on the atari). Thanks. :)
