Mate, ignore that last 'JesusVSPope' reviewer. He's never made a game in his life so he had no idea what he was talking about nor how difficult it is to actually detect a check mate or stale mate. Your system did work perfectly so the time just runs out, showing again that this total dickhead wasnt fuckin clever enough to work out that the time runs out. As for making the server, bloody well done. Yeah the angle aint terrific and the pieces can look confusing at first but ya get used to it. So please, ignore this twat.

This was one of the worst chess interfaces I have ever seen. First off, you screwed up the colors(blacks king always goes on the left side of the board) oh yes, white is always suppose to go first. When the king is in check and can no longer move, this is called checkMATE - not check, which results in the game ending, not both players sitting there until one gets board enough to resign. I could go on but I think my main point is clear, which is... you did a horrible job, and you have nothing to be proud of.
ATTENTION REAL CHESS PLAYERS:
the players on here on just plain stupid, so if your having a bad day, the boost to your ego resulting from the stupidity of the compatition cant hurt... Unless you play too often letting the stupidity of these 'chess players' starts to show in your game. Those searching for real compatition would be much better off on Yahoo or one of the many Java games out there, or even better yet just buying chessmaster 9000.

I've got an idea that would help your game.

You should be able to hover over opponents pieces and a text should pop on saying opponents king, or whatever piece it is. It is kinda hard to tell which pieces are which in the game sometimes so you can make really stupid mistakes. But great game otherwise!!! Keep it up.

I've always been a big fan of chess but no one around my place wants to play. I'm very glad you made this. But I wonder if this will make the Front Page? I am a little confused about some of the apperences of the chess peices though, its hard to tell some of them apart, but other than that, Great Game

Yahoo and all the Java chess use different ports so I have to open them on my firewall. This is easier! Although I did have a problem because the board was facing the other way... It's really cool to play a flash chess game!

When a pawn is on the middle of the board (opponent's side) and the opponent moves his pawn two spaces (past the the player's pawn on either side, you should be able to take that pawn as if he's only moved one space. This is called taking empasse or taking "while passing" Also, if you can castle while in check, that should also be fixed. It would be also to have some kind of indicator if you are in check mate and not just check.

Otherwise..great game..lots of fun to play!
