This was very good.
I know nothing about making games but now I think that I can make one !! so thanks a lot!

One problem is that the graphics on it are a bit hard to see (I know this happens when you make a screenshot small) but it would be nice if that was fixed!! still thanks

for the newbs that are using flash mx and up ,the "instance name" section is in properties click on ur movieclip and look in properties and youll see a white rectangle in the bottom left corner or so, just so the newbs or the confused flash mx and up users know :P

1) how would i make it goto a game over screen after enemy hits player?
and also my movement of player is a bit choppy even though i copy an pasted ur exact scripts.
also when i move player left enemy follows perfect but when i go up down an right the enemy doesn't follow my exact movement and moves away from player slightly i checked scripts twice any idea how to fix this or should i just try exporting it an playing first because i tried flash test in flash so i dunno...

yes yes yes.. i know this flash is ancient and reviewing it now it stupid because you will never see this, but ill say it anyway, then pm you as well. the keyboard control and enemy AI script work great, although the AI script is a little noobish. it just makes the enemy make a beeline for you. however, now bad. only problem i have with this is that the script to make the explosion clip play when you touch the enemy doesn't work, and its not because flash is not detecting the collision because it is. i ran a script so that when the origin points of the two movie clips cross it tell me in the output box when i test it. therefor, the problem is in your clip-playing script, mostly being that its riddled with flaws, and wont run in flash. could it be possible for you to update this tutorial with flash 8 scrips, because that is what I'm using and that may be part of the problem. any way, oh well. still a good job.

Its a great tutorial, but I'm having a bit of a problem with the explosion, after I got it in there and tried it out my player explodes without the enemy touching him, can someone tell me where I went wrong? Because I've gone through this tutorial a few times now and can't figure it out.

This was definately helpful. Although at points I was a little stuck, your code worked good for me. Still working on getting mine completed however. It would have been nice to have this a little bigger though. Ah well.
