"Not that great at all."
date: October 6, 2003
The original was great mainly because it put the cursor within a logical environment. It was mainly the style that made it so appealing although the story worked in the context - nothing much happened, but it was amusing to watch and as I said, the bit with the pointer poking at the stomach was almost painful to watch (in a good way).
However, you just seem to be milking the idea - the story didn't make too much sense and whilst - yeah, the grab function at the end is a 'power' of the cursor, it could have been any supposedly strong character.
Ultimately, the previous episode had a decent style, made sense and a somewhat amusing story. This has none of those things.
If you make another cursor short, please keep it on the computer screen. There's still loads of unexplored possibilities. You could have the cursor paint some stuff in flash and draw things to defend itself for example. And that's after about 2 seconds of thought.
I'm sure you could come up with better ideas.
