GREAT JOB!! << first of all!!
...um you wanted some suggestions so here they are:
> in the intro under "about toon rules" and under "skills" it says "skills: STATS are the 'paint' of a toon".... shouldnt it say "skills: SKILLS are the 'paint' of a toon"?

ummm... thats all the problems i found, GREAT DEMO!!... cant wait for the full one (hope the review helped)

(oh and i LOVED the sunglasses!!...funny when he walks!)

Oh, actually it should say: Stats are the 'ink' of a character, and Skills are the 'paint' of the character (ink & paint are used on celluloid for classical cartoon character animation). I'll have to look into that, thanks!

I'm planning on working on the full version after Newgrounds Jam #2 is finished.

u should try Final Fantasy Tactics. Is the face on the starting guy yours? Just making sure. Finish the game, please;)

I haven't played FF: Tactis, but it sounds pretty good.
The TOON world is always governed by The Animator-- the most powerful and feared being in the Tooniverse. Since I created the game I'm the animator so I used a picture of myself ;)
I'm planning on getting back to work on the game after NGJ 2&3

"Nice idea"

For a demo, that was pretty good, but as you could only hit 1s on the dog, it got a bit boring, but i saw all the other skills so it should be exciting.

another thing, when i was mucking around with it, i found that if you right click and go to play it speeds through the game and you win it with ease, mabye on the full version you can link the play butten to a game over page or somthing, anyway as i said i am looking forward to the full thing.

If you don't want to damage the dog for only 1 point try bringing your MUSCLE up, getting a better weapon, or rolling a little luckier ;)
I tried disabling the right-click, but the code I put in doesn't work. Oh well, it'll get fixed in the full version.

"Cool and Funny!"

"it was good"

is it my computer though or does it frezze every time your in a fight and hit the x i had to stop playing cause it was getting annoying so i didnt get to finish but ill try again other than that nice game

It's got some lag that I'm going to fix for the full version. If you don't have a fast computer it might look like the game froze on you.

"kind of tedious"

It's a great idea, and a great work, but the stat thing is a little complicated, and if you don't get the stats right, you can't do anything. And the adventures get a little tedious after a while. You should just have 3 characters you can choose from with unadjustable stats, and you should only have to fight monsters once in quests, and be able to fight more in a designated arena.

What are you talkin' 'bout? TOON mechanics are easy! (and I made it even easier in this version).
By the way, I made sure that you can get through the game even if you put your stats at all minimum (2 is min). Just have to think about it a bit to get through it.
I'm not a big fan of the Gauntlet type character system. RPGs are all about creating the ROLE of the game (in my opinion).

My current project is nearly finished, and after that I'll try to find the time for a full TOON game.
I have some outlines and ideas for the full version, but that's as far as it's come at this moment.
And, yes, there are a couple cheats ;)
If you want you can e-mail me, otherwise you'll have to finish the demo and find the hint at the end.
