i liked it a lot exept for the loading and the skills thing... i cant climb the vine so i cant advance in the storyline... can you level up to bring up your skills?

Author's Response:

If you don't have a high Climb skill you can still get through the game. Climbing the vine will only lead you to an extra scene just for fun.
The main skill to get you through the cave is Pick Up Heavy Thing, but even that is unnecessary because I have different options for different situations.
At the end of the game you get a Plot Point (which can be used to raise a skill), but it's the end of the game, so there's really no need for it. I kind of poke fun at that with the ending sequence.

"Cool game"

...but when I was in the cave fighting a slime thing it kept freezing and then it fast forwarded to some slime king saying I beat him and he gave me all this stuff....oh well nj tho

I had fun... I found the bone and the bannana. I keep getting my butt kicked in fights. LOL

I also admit I played "Toon RPG" years ago. I like the fact there is no dice to mess with here.

You did a very decent job.

You probably did so well in the game because you're a TOON veteran ;)
Programming all those dice rolls was very time consuming... phew, but it was worth it with all the vast skills to use.
Hope you like my advanced TOON system (it works out better than the RPG). If you remember the RPG system you might notice I fixed a lot of problems with it and made it simpler.

"Nice"

I'm playing this as I type this, and I'm loving it. Reminds me of a Monkey Island game... Unless the battle system is really fun, I wouldn't add one if I were you. It's great the way it is!

TOON is all about battles... they're called a fracas in the Tooniverse. And I think the battle system is really fun - but the cool part is that you can always get around fighting if you want (until the end). I have open-ended quests... and you can always run away.

"Oops..."

I was playing this for like 1 hour and my voting every day is supposed to take like... 5 minutes?

Anyways... Good loader but you should give it a permanent count so idiots (like me) will take less time to understand to click on the safe.

When you said you like to learn and create... me too! But its pretty crappy 'cos with my 56k I can't download Flash MX, It always disconnects... :(

I'll get broadband someday :) Now onto the review...

Damn, I'm still waiting for it to load... ITS LOADED YAY!

I heard some people were getting lagg? Not here... music works just fine too... but wait! It ended!

I uploaded a file that should keep the music from ending abruptly, as well as some additional SFX and a slightly better ending.

"good stuffz"

really good so far, but i found a really wierd thing, click on the vine with not enough to climb it in the cave, then goto examine...its to hard to explain what happens but see.

There was a gotoAndPlay rather than a gotoAndStop. I'm fixing it with the next upload.
