Why not? It has backwards compatibility for the gamecube. There's even slots for your memory cards and GC controllers.

Seconded.

Plus, it has Wii games.

I know but the wii never really struck me as something I'd want (except SSBB ofcoarse)

Try taking out the 4 screws on the bottom to remove the whole cover, and just nudge the button back up. Or just clean it with some rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab, if there's dirt in the cracks

You could also just use gum or superglue on the end of a stick and pull it out, for a brute force method.

As expected, this thread is already degrading from helpful advice to a fanboy cock-measuring contest.

I'm going to share a method I've used once or twice for "fixing" GameCubes, in case one day you encounter a problem that can't be so easily fixed:

Go to a Wal*Mart, buy a new one. Take it home and, using a razor, carefully peel the serial number sticker off the bottom of both GC's and switch them. Then clean the old one like an archaeologist carefully dusting a fossil; clean every nook and cranny of dust and dirt, then give it a good polish with some non-abrasive cleaner, like Windex. You can also pop the clear plastic "Game Cube" circle off the lid and switch them too if you're extra careful. Wrap that baby up in the packaging from the new one and bring it back to a different Wal*Mart with the receipt- get a refund and bam, free new GC.
Yes, I realize this is highly dishonest, but chances are you're already going to Hell for something you did anyway. It beats paying to have it fixed or getting a cheap refurbished one.

Just keep hammering the reset button until it's totally unusable.
I mean, it's not subtle, or smart, but at least you don't have to disassemble it, or rip off Wal-mart to do it.
Even the stupidest person can do it, and use the power button instead.

Maybe he just doesn't feel like spending a few hunndred bucks on something like that. Wii makes you exercise. Defeats the point of video games. Unless u iz fat.

To everyone that is saying "just go buy a Wii". It's not that easy to just go out and spend a couple hundred bucks on a new system when your old one can be fixed.

You could use a slightly wet old toothbrush, and brush around the reset button's cracks.

I would just try and get something small like a paper clip or knife, and just try and pop it up. Or take it somewhere to be fixed

Or worse case scenario, you can just buy a new one. I had to literally take a double take when I saw a bunch of used Gamecubes on sale at Gamestop for 29.95.

I'm not saying it isn't fun, I just wouldn't buy it. And I exercise all the time I hardly play games anymore.

Why does it matter? It's the reset button. Just turn the game on and off using the power button.

I'm going to turn my Gamecube into a lunch box. I have no use for it anymore since I've sold all my games and I just don't find them fun anymore. I need to get a Wii though. A lunch box Gamecube is awesome.
