Did you know how they treated cuts, my good sir? They had a little thing called a cautery iron. It was basically a piece of metal that had been stuck in the oven for an hour.

And what they did was, they put some oil on it, and they stuck it into the wound, so the oil would get in, and they would stitch the wound up again, with the oil still in it.

If it got infected, they would just do it again, but with more oil.
