Main reason it could be fake:
- Lack of blood. If he shot himself in the head, blood would be pouring out from his nose and some from his mouth. If he shot himself in the neck, well, I don't know what it would look like because let's face it, who the hell shoots themselves in the neck?

see I kinda react badly to posts like this. When I KNOW it's real and purposely sought it out when I read the news story it kinda galls me when people are saying that they know what a gunshot wound to the head looks like so much they can call a real video fake.
If he shot himself in the head, it would look EXACTLY like this, because this is REAL. It's a bit like that guy who shoots himself in custody and everyone was like 'that vids fake because there's not enough blood' but it was REAL and that's HOW MUCH BLOOD there is in a REAL gunshot suicide. TV shows make it look gorier and sexier because it's kinda underwhelming.
Your knowledge of gunshots is lacking. Your scepticism needs fine-tuning because this is REAL.
How live are we talking about here? was it on live news when it happend or just a small live programme? Either way it is bad but when news is talking about it they can cut out the moment he does it, but when it first happend nothing managed to stop showing it, I would hate to think of all the people across the country or world however it was broadcast who would have seen it, especially children.
Also about the headshot not having enhough blood, you don't really expect a fountain to hush out when you get shot do you? They may have the amount of blood like it shows on Fight Club when he shoots himself as that looked realistic to me with the small amount on there, I will never look up the actual amount though as I could do with being able to sleep tonight. I don't even watch gorey things or shock sites so there isnt a chance I am going to look knowing what it is.

I know it was real. I was comparing it to another video that is similiar to this one. I'm sure you know of the one of the person under custody and shoots himself because police didn't search him.

Well, it's hard to see from the camera and giant letters, but there's definitely a lot of blood coming out around his left ear, along with chunks of brain and bone immediately after he shoots himself.
Also, if you pay close attention, his whole left side gets soaked in blood, and his nose is draining blood, as well.
