Is it possible we're skipping over stuff that might be good? Are we being smart and avoiding wasting our time? Or are their certain things we look for in something and we hope the small blurbs about it can give us a good enough information? However, maybe it's just about having a nice little picture besides your comment, heck what makes you say I am going to take my time to try this item, and what makes you say, why would i bother? (P.S. I dont mean to attack any of the hardworking people who put their effort into making these things, I am just looking at what other viewers look at when they decide what to do) =]
You bring up a good point...
Honestly, I'm not sure what makes me want something. Just instinct that it will be good.
And it has yet to fail me...
I've learned that titles are often misleading. And stupid shit can have great titles.
I usually pick out things by who makes them now. How do I know this person. What has this person made in the past. And was it good.
Anything that starts with [FF] deserves a good skip. Also, if teh artistz tipez liek thiz, then I just move on. Anything with Naruto, Henti, or furries also gets a skip from Xports.
But I normally try to watch all the flashes with the comment "My first flash" in the title. I've seen some gems come through on these types of games and such before.
ZSL already hit the nail on the head really but to further elaborate, it's better to just judge on what you already know.
On NG for example, to scour the archives looking for decent films will lead you to dead ends filled with the uttermost pieces of shit that perverted fat nerds and bored little boys make to entertain themselves.
Look on the front page for most of the good stuff, and checking out the collections areas will help too, there is some pretty inspiring stuff on there, littlefoot is a good place to start.
However when looking outside of NG at other titles you might want to just dig a little bit deeper into how the game has been made, or who starred in the film you want to view.
Sometimes a little extra info can spare you wasting 2+ hours of watching Dane Cook try to be funny.
Thanks to Life-Stream for the sig.
