Regardless, I don't like him, because I feel as though he compensates for a lack of true musical talent through his sensationalism and unnecessary antics. Alice Cooper was sensational and controversial, but he backed it with good music, stuff that was innovative for the time period.

The only real reason that people like Marilyn Manson is because it makes them unconventional and sensational, making them feel important and unique. If you go to a Marilyn Manson concert, you don't go to hear the music, you go to see what kind of fucked up shit he is going to do. It's a lot like Gwar, where you go to a concert just to see what you're going to get sprayed with.

So honestly, don't get pissed that people have misconceptions about you or think you're weird or crazy for being a Marilyn Manson fan...inside, that is EXACTLY why you tell people you listen to his music.
