Step 1: The setting. It can be a fight on land, air, or sea, could be in the rain, snow, or fog....make it seem epic.

Step 2: Design the boss and its attacks. Is it a robot, or a giant lava monster? Or something creative! A novel idea. Also, it could change patterns each time you hit it to a significant level.

Step 3: Tell how you're supposed to defeat it. Quick time events? Regular fighting? Or just mash a bunch of ideas together.

Step 4: Music. It could tie in with the fight, so you know the attack is coming, or if you do something at a specific note you get extra points or something like that. You can also link to something pre-made.

Nothing overly stupid, please.

The only epic boss fight I can think of is if you have to shoot your way into the heart (taking off chunks of its skin and flesh), otherwise, the boss won't take any damage.

Inside a bright white holy sanctuary.

Step 2: Design the boss and its attacks. Is it a robot, or a giant lava monster? Or something creative! A novel idea. Also, it could change patterns each time you hit it to a significant level.

lets say Weapon like a mix of Weapons on FF7,8,10 and some holy bright colouring

Step 3: Tell how you're supposed to defeat it. Quick time events? Regular fighting? Or just mash a bunch of ideas together.

The fight has to be at least an hour long and be able to easily kill you constantly, have to be completely maxed out to stand a chance and basicly just beat the shit out of it while making sure your party lives. Also be able to remove limbs and things maybe being regenerated over time.

Step 4: Music. It could tie in with the fight, so you know the attack is coming, or if you do something at a specific note you get extra points or something like that. You can also link to something pre-made.

An angelic voice let's go with the opening to the demon world on DMC3

Nothing overly stupid, please.

Just like most RPGs there ; )

I always loved holy fights hehe.

As the Party(being an RPG) Crosses through a planetoid that resembles the Hell as Dante's Divine Comedy, they finally arrive to the Ninth Circle, the place is frozen...

As you make your way to the core, an acquaintance form long ago appears and tells you that all this time, the chaos that happened thorough the world was caused by a demon-like race that travels along the stars defiling other planets with chaos.

He proceeds to mock you as he reveals to you that he sided with them form the beginning. He uses a story-related catalyst and shatters the humongous frozen core, to free the once inprisoned Prince of Darkness.

The Dark One then proceeds to kill the acquaintace, freeing him form his "defiled existance", and goes on a rampage as he curses the party, then the battle ensues.

Step 2: Design the boss and its attacks. Is it a robot, or a giant lava monster? Or something creative! A novel idea. Also, it could change patterns each time you hit it to a significant level.

As the Divine Comedy describes Satan, Several wings, three mouths and encased in ice form the waist bellow. He first attacks the party with Ice-based attacks. Later, he goes into hyper and he melts the ice, as fiery gales rise form the abyss that formed the ice, and attacks with fire and thunder attacks. Finally, he reveal an fallen angel look and uses dark and light based attacks.

Step 3: Tell how you're supposed to defeat it. Quick time events? Regular fighting? Or just mash a bunch of ideas together.

Two of the mouths absorb magic, which is the only thing that can stun him. Disable the mouths with ranged attacks and the attack with any kind of spell to make it vulnerable, and finally blitz with melee.
He recovers the next turn, so speed it vital.

Step 4: Music. It could tie in with the fight, so you know the attack is coming, or if you do something at a specific note you get extra points or something like that. You can also link to something pre-made.

Something of an angelic chorus, only distorted and demonic, and with mechanical hints

Nothing overly stupid, please.

It was kind of fun.

Wide open neutral area, the best. Night time, with the dark skies illuminated by the fire below.
Like a hell on Earth kinda feel.
Generic, but I never tire of it.

Step 2: Design the boss and its attacks. Is it a robot, or a giant lava monster? Or something creative! A novel idea. Also, it could change patterns each time you hit it to a significant level.

Just one badass looking guy.
He has a rifle sword, like Squall from FFVIII, but his has bullets, high powered ones too, so you'll fall down if shot. And hard.
He got a basic sword combo, ending with a powerful gun shot.
He jumps back and snipes with a 5 second stall time.
He has a grab that starts with a stab then he shoots you 5 times and throws you down.
If you get too combo happy, he will parry and do his special grab, which you can't guard against.
When his health is at medium, he loads in heat rounds that sets you ablaze when you're shot, of course doing extra damage. His sword combo, which was a 3 hitter, is now a 5 hitter and ends with two attempted gun shots.
His snipe is faster (3 second stall time).
When his health is low, he will always have heat rounds.
He will snipe at you 5 to 7 times in a row with 1 second stall time.
His basic combo is now a 7 hitter, with 3 attempted gun shots.
His will throw his rifle sword in the air and it will fire random heat rounds all around the place.
He moves faster, less lags between his moves.
His parry is now accompanied with an up close gun shot.

Step 3: Tell how you're supposed to defeat it. Quick time events? Regular fighting? Or just mash a bunch of ideas together.

Regular fighting.
You have a basic attack function, a sub attack function, a guard, a jump, and a single dash in any direction you wish.
You also have a lock on function.

Step 4: Music. It could tie in with the fight, so you know the attack is coming, or if you do something at a specific note you get extra points or something like that. You can also link to something pre-made.

Insert any medium paced epic fight music here.

Nothing overly stupid, please.

I hope I passed.

Inside a church.

A zombie-like hulk of a monster. With tentacles for those anime chicks ;)

Gotta break its limbs, then button chain.

MegaMan music ftw.

I dont have time to get into detail.

Step 1: The setting. It can be a fight on land, air, or sea, could be in the rain, snow, or fog....make it seem epic.

Anything above an enormous pit of dangerous substances, eg: lava, acid, shit like that.

Step 2: Design the boss and its attacks. Is it a robot, or a giant lava monster? Or something creative! A novel idea. Also, it could change patterns each time you hit it to a significant level.

The boss is the CEO of the main evil company and he has all this kick ass weaponry he has designed. And there isn't really a significant pattern, he just stands there shooting you.

Step 3: Tell how you're supposed to defeat it. Quick time events? Regular fighting? Or just mash a bunch of ideas together.

Just somehow get him into the dangerous substance mentioned above.

Step 4: Music. It could tie in with the fight, so you know the attack is coming, or if you do something at a specific note you get extra points or something like that. You can also link to something pre-made.

Definitely

Setting: Hurricanes, Earthquakes, you know, to give the feeling like the world will be destroyed if you dont defeat it.
THE BOSS: It has to be huge. Huge and totally over-powered. Dragon, robot, I don't care.
How to defeat it?: Kicking it in the balls. No not really. I'd say probably the one way in which you would least expect. Lets say... destroying a robot by taking the batteries out. :P
Music: Fucking EPIC music. Like Final Destination or BBBB on Yoshi's Island.

We had some good times, Newgrounds.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

1. day of apocolypse, airship above chasm splitting the earth almost in half through new york city, lightning, heavy rain sky red, you drop onto the back of the ship which is planning on crashing into the chasm nd thus detroying the world, you look out of the window and see the summoned demons killing anyone in sight beneath you, you fight through the hordes of demons and soldiers and onto the deck where you see.... Sephiroth

2. sephiroth has his trademark one wing with the massive sword his veins stick out and his eyes are yellow he turns round and says "So you've arrived..." dead bodies are all around him some you recognise as friends. "This is the end.... I am the end and you are a hinderance.... I am the death you are the illness... I am eternity..... you are a second" you do not reply simply a tear runs down your face and you charge him que the amazingly epic fight...

3. you fight him in a kingdom hearts style but with more style nd less button mashing you use swords, magic and guns you duel in the air and on the city streets itself every so often you are granted the oppurtunity to perform special event to afvance the battle like choopin off the wing or slam him to the ground from the airship or flatten buildings on top of him etc. which are all activated by button presses. the fight ends when sephroth attempts to divebomb the airship into the chasm ( destroying the world and you dive underneath destroying sephroth and the airship but killing youself to save the world.

4.the battle begins with " merry christmas mr lawrence" by Sakamoto Ryuchi ( frogive the spelling ) then progresses to "hurt" byu johnny cash durin the mid fight cutscene with many eoic sephiroth quotes nd continues on while fighting on the ground nd then in the final airship divebomb is "Hoppipola" by sigur ros ( the ultimate ending song )

TELL ME THIS SOUNDS EPPPPPPPPPIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCC

well.... is this the part where i try and say something smart...?

well.... Shit happens when you party naked :)
