Anymore so than a person killing themselves without the webcam there?
Well, as long as we don't have to see or think about it, I guess it's okay.

I would of freaked out.
Also check my youtube page in 2 days and you'll see me hanging myself out my window! :D
You have to draw the line of determination from desperation. What is truly yours would eventually be yours, and what is not, no matter how hard you try, will never be.

" He said his son, who attended Broward Community College and wanted to be a paramedic, had bipolar disorder and was being treated for depression."
"The father said he had no reason to believe his son was having problems."
I take issue with this.

Who here has heard of the case were a woman got killed in an ally way and everyone in the surrounding buildings were aware of the act taking place, but they did nothing. This is a lot like that... except worse because half the people thought it was a joke or really didn't care. The other half expected someone else to take initiative and do something about it...
Goes to show that if you you see someone's life in danger and it looks like no one around you is going to do anything about it you might want to try to contact some authorities and see if you can't orevent someone from getting killed.

Couldn't agree more. Believe me, I know that from personal experience.

the problem with our culture is that instead of bringing aid to people in trouble, we'll simply film their misfortune.

I can't believe that some people urged him to kill himself, saying that he needs to take more drugs.

that has nothing to do with people having absolutely no fucking decency these days. If you saw a kid overdosing on the street... would you just ignore it and be on your way? most definitely not. Does the internet make people "not real"?

There were An heroes before the Internet, remember Hitler. The military hasn't even developed the Internet yet.

Yes.
When you chat with someone online, you assume an entirely remote array of senses and feelings than you would in real life. For instance, I could have just posted "FUCK YOU YOU'RE A CUNT" and been on my merry way. Or PM'd it to some random person where in real life I would never just walk up to someone and say that.
Once you've been around this for long enough, you begin to see the Internet as a total joke. You stop taking anything seriously, even death and other sensitive aspects of life - because you can get away with it without any repercussion other than someone getting upset, which falls under trolling. And yes, I lol'd hard, and then realized how far society is sinking when I read about this yesterday.
