Bloody Biology teacher made me sit through a heart dissection today.

:(

I had to have a go at her after class, apparently even though I had repeatedly refused to do experiments and had filled in a form, she still "didn't realise".
I regret ever taking Biology, all we've been doing recently is experiments I can't do(suspiciously none of which are on the syllabus), and evaluating the effect humans have on ecosystems(which is just depressing).

Also that's cool that you're er back shabbo.

I'm taking biology in school as well, we had to say our opinion about what we thought about genetically modifing animals so, when eaten, the eater gets more nutrients. I looked through my response and realized i got pretty angry.

eh.

That's stupid. They've got computer programs that eliminate the need for using real animals.

I took biology before I went veg and I loved dissecting things anyway, I thought it'd be cool to do autopsies on people for a career.

Pretty weird that you find eating meat a bit disgusting, but don't dissecting it, lol.

What is your career?:P

Question, what's the best brand of vegan mock meat? I mean, I love Morning Star (it is AMAZING) but those fuckers just have to put egg whites and milk into their products. I tried some TVP chicken from Health is Wealth, and it tasted bad.

eh.

Yeah, I know. I don't agree with them killing things to be used in classrooms but I have found dead fish or animals on the ground and dissected them just for the hell of it. Ha, I think my favourite part of Hunter's Safety was learning to gut a deer. Haha.

I'm going to school to be a teacher. Plan right now is to get a degree to teach little kiddies and then continue going to school after I get a job doing that to get a higher degree and then MAYBE teach HS English or something later on. I could be the old lady teacher that's totally absorbed in books all the time haha.

The best is totally Quorn, but they use egg whites too. :(
I think Boca's garden veggie or chicken patties aren't bad. And Yves and Tofurkey are like teh best for deli type meats. And seitan is great for stir-fry or whatever.

TBH I actually don't like fake meat much more than I liked the real stuff which was mostly not at all. I just cover it up with tomatoes, sprouts, spinach, or whatever.

I don't eat bread that often, but I do enjoy toast once in a while.

I've got this one kind of bread that's like the only one I'll eat for several reasons, but I have a problem with it. I think maybe it isn't vegan or something like that, I can't be sure (can't remember haha). Anyway, I've decided to start making my own bread. Found a pretty 1337 recipe on vegweb, can't wait to try it out. I also need to get some more soy nut butter next time I go to the store (lololpeanutbutterallergy)

Yes. I did just use leet. Yes. I am disappointed in myself.

But you were vegetarian for 16 years before trying sushi? Wouldn't that make you get sick?
I don't know, I'll never understand the whole going back to meat thing. I'm pretty sure I could never do it. I wonder why some people do and some don't.

And yay, we'd miss you if you left completely.

I looove the stuff now. It's one of my favourite beverages. I was just really hooked on cow's milk as a kid so the transition was a little hard as I at first expected it to taste the same. Took me a while to get used to. It's kind of like when you think you're about to drink lemonade but instead it's root beer.

Silk vanilla soymilk is usually what I'm drinking when I'm not drinking tea.

Haha, fruit flavored black tea is great (it has to be really strong though). I'm drinking original flavor soy milk, are other flavors good?

eh.

If I'm the new "leader" then I hereby proclaim this club to be equally shared among all of its members. We're ALL partial leaders.

Oh, the very vanilla was like a sugar punch in the face when I tried it. Too sweet, lol.

I'm currently addicted to green tea. Used to be addicted to Earl Grey black tea. Chai is good on occasion as well. I get the original flavour when I get the bone health kind. It's good. I also like getting the light vanilla kind sometime. I just like changing it up every now and then. Haven't found one that I didn't like. Even chocolate is alright, though maybe I could say I don't like it. I wouldn't choose that flavour over any other one.

Looks like you're going to keep at it though. I don't remember how strict your diet was, but I think doing it more gradually should help. My transition was pretty gradual and I didn't lapse back into eating meat after giving it up. I haven't had a perfectly vegan diet the entire time I've been vegan, that just happens. Best thing to do is remember why you're doing it and remember that even in you make mistakes you are still making a difference.

What's helped with hunger for me is eating veggies like carrots and celery that take a while to chew and eating beans or soynut butter (or peanut butter for you cool people without allergies).

Good luck!

Woo, e-socialism!

That's how I roll.

Been reading Introduction to Animal Rights: Your Child or The Dog. Has anyone else read it?

There are some things about the law and about vivisection that I was completely unaware of prior to reading it. Pretty interesting stuff except it seems to take a long time to read. 50 pages feels like 100. I prefer books that flow so well you hit the end and are like "Oh! The end, already?" but it's all good.
