Why is Photoshop changing colors ?! 2008-11-21 15:24:56

I <3 Photoshop, but often times when I export graphics using EXPORT FOR WEB (or sometimes just Save As...) the colors come out slightly different. Usually less saturated and lighter. It's so weird! Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

I'm on a Mac OS 10.5 (intel) using Photoshop CS3

This shouldn't be in the art forum, try posting it in the general forum...also in the art forum, the first post has to have a picture so.....this doesnt belong here and your thread will probably get locked.

but that doesn't mean you can't help him instead of pointing out the obvious rules no one follows.

there might be some connection with gif colors. you might have used a slightly darker red for instance, but it changes to the closest gif color. you only get a 256 color palette for gifs.

I've found that to be true, but I have gradients so i'm going to steer away from gifs. Someone suggested it may be a color profile issue. I turned mine off and it appears to be working. Does anyone know how to PREVENT photoshop from setting a color profile? I think that's what has been messing me up for years.

Could you try posting a view of this mess?

I wish I knew the answer to your problem, might have to do with the installation, drivers, settings, mode or something else altogether. Regardless, the Art forum generally is for displaying your artworks and not for Phtoshop help.

I think you could try asking in the Newgrounds Photoshop Headquarters.

There is also the Adobe Knowledge Base and if you can't find what you need try searching and then (if you still can't find anything) posting on the Adobe Forums.

I hope you get everything sorted. =]
