it would be nice if anyone could critique the character, not the way it is drawn or how is anatomicly incorrect, but just how it looks.

For some reason i absouletly love the style you drew him in. color him and draw him in flash and post it. I wanna c!

I need some photoshop help, and got some questions.

When you draw a lines and fills how do you select em ?

and another thing, when I zoom in, it looks low res, what's up with that ?

I use photoshop 6, can someone help me ?

by the way are the newer virsions of photoshop much better ?

and any of you know some other good drawining and painting software ?

You can't. There's other apps though, Macromedia Fireworks for example, which is pixel based but has "selectable" graphics.

Then there is Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, Corel Draw (?) and lots and lots of others.

Flash got less options, and I wanted to see how photoshop feels.

I don't have a wacom, and when I tried to draw with the brush tool it just doesn't paint as I would like it, you can't see brush storkes and other stuff.

Thats the difference between vectors and bitmaps.
Bitmaps give you true photorealism, while vectors is great for cartooning, designing and so on. Gradients and so on are possible, but the only way to achieve what you want is to mix techniques probably. Like vector shapes with a bitmap texture.

Why do people use photoshop then, you can't select nothing and it's low res.

You EDIT vector images, or you draw in it, and you can use layers and also a bit of vector techniqe- most Bimapeditors now give you the choice to draw vector lines and render the bitmap later.
Guess why it is called Photoshop and not Comic, Design or Vectorshop.

Here is something I have been working on for sadly almost 2 weeks. It is by far the best thing I have done and maybe will ever do. I would really like some feedback.

Here is the link.
