My suggestion would be to draw the drawing yourself (as you already did), then go trace the origonal. After that, compare the traced drawing to your own, and see what's different and needs to be fixed.

It has helped me a bit :P

My only complaint is the ponytail. I feel as though it would be much better if you animated the pony tail bouncing up and down as she ran ( During the backshot view).

Well yes. I always animate that last. Don't worry it'll be added. Just wanted to know what people thought of what i had so far.

I like it, although the jpeg quality on the first couple of frames is pretty rough.

I've been working on a photorealistic drawing of his two daughters since late last year, and because I've taken so bloody long I thought I'd do some quick one's too, kind of to make up for it. Take a look at a real landscape and try to understand the textures and shadings.

A LOT of depth in it. The bright white highlights really make it look like it is in real light... awesome job.

Its really good. My suggestion would be to do something different with the clothing. It has the same texture as the hair and skin and makes it therefore look a bit organic instead of synthetic. But the overall effect is really cool and theres real personality in it. awesome

once ur done with the voice acting you should make him like point to himself etc. that would be good. like i ahve come (points to self) to my senses (points to head) and he should be saying all that while hes walking. that would be awesome!

I put the photo up and draw next to it. Sometimes I'll draw a flat line so I can make sure specific details are in the right spot, like the eyeline etc. I say it's like a spot the difference, because it starts of with blocky colours, then detail gets built up until it makes sense... just compare, compare... very visual. I do the same thing when I paint and draw. With the other one I'm doing, the photorealistic one, it took so long because it's the most accurate drawing I've ever done. Being so anal with that one (along with getting better eyesight with age) has helped with accuracy in other drawings, although I doubt I'd ever draw that way again after this one.
