I'm assuming maya
Maya isn't hardcore enough. We use 3dmax, program of kings!

Last one!

they made shrek 2 in maya. i think that result is a bit more hardcore than that coke can

This was made on home computers, by two people, in a fortnight as a first project using 3D. Comparing it with Shrek is stupid, and pointless.
Just you wait, epics will come!

your missing the point, i was saying, if they can make shrek 2 in maya, that program is pretty hardcore. 3dmax may be program of kings, but you havent proved that yet by the renders

Very nice, with a little more shading it would look even better.

So, here is a little bit of the plan for my Go animation, and some history.
Skip to pictures if you'd like :)

Go is an ancient Asian game, and was once integrated into the training of warriors. The game was understood to teach the players wisdom that would help them in battle. The game was taught to emperors and their children to help ensure a wise rule. This is all true.

The animation is a fictional piece based around that idea. It's follows an Asian general, who quickly rose through the ranks and surpassed his own teachers. He wanted to become better, but there was noone left to teach him, so he made the long journey to a reclusive Go master. He would play this master at Go, and learn all he could from him. The master spends his days meditating on top of a high mountain. After a long journey, the general reaches this mountain:

The Master's Mountain.

Go is played by two players taking turns placing a single stone on a board. One player uses black stones, one uses white. Black always goes first - and because of this advantage, the weaker player uses black stones (to help even out the game). Because the master is so freaking good, he will be completely dressed in white robes (Since he is always the better player, he always uses white stones). The general will be dressed in black, humbly admitting that he is the weaker player.

After a long climb, the general finally reaches the top of the mountain, where he finds the master waiting, in all his glory:

The Master.

That's all I have images for, so far, but the whole animation is storyboarded. =)

Yea I worded myself badly but didn't feel like double posting. You answered my question, I was asking if that was the finished version of that piece...Because, I don't know, I didn't seem as good as some of your other works, so I was making sure it wasn't just a practice version.

No offense...

The entire movie is made in that style. There is absolutely no point in drawing a scene like that hyperdetailed if the rest of the movie cant keep up with that quality. As an animator you always have to make compromises. The drawings look pretty good and the thing is still pretty doable to frame by frame. And besides, i never really cared so much for eye candy. I love directing this thing like a real movie much more.

I only have 3 real problems I'll pick at:
-The lips are effed up. Look like a two-piece moustache over a little U-mouth.
-She looks like she could play offensive tackle.
-Her boobies are coming out of her collarbone.

Could ou guys by chance tell me how you qould fix these problems that aren't self explanitor?

I completely agree with that statement. Thats the same way I look at things when dealing with creating a story or animation.

For the lips, just study some reference pictures. Bottom lip fuller than the top. All lines should connect, I feel. Again, study references.
The shoulders need to be less wide, and kind of on more of a downward slope. The babs need to be lower. Reference pictures will help even more with body form. Only thing that sucks is that if you get caught looking at nude models for reference, no one will ever believe that it was for artistic purposes XD

I'm sorry, but i have to but in, 3ds max and maya are equally capable programs. I happen to like maya more, because it's what i lkearned on in school, Perhaps you like 3ds max for the same reason. I have used both in a professional setting and they both have their advantages, 3dS max is better for architectural stuff, and maya is better for more organic things. just my opinion, but i don't think either is better than the other. I mean cmon they made shrek, MEtroid Prime, and i believe some of final fantasy the spirits within, on maya. 3d studio, im sure has an equally respectful clientele, but please , DO NOT call maya a "Plugin" just because you do not know how to use it.
