Here's a view of the back. I actually decided to properly model the liscence plate area and area for exhaust pipe... lol I usually use shittyass booleans. I'm really trying to make this a really nice model. Maybe I'll even be able to sell it on 3d02.com

Really? I thought the shading and structure was alot better than some of the -shaky flat blob shaped sorta like what the drawing is supposed to be- art that ive seen from you. No offense :D

I like the light in this picture.

Add more background though, it needs more deep in it.
Also add a reflection of the fatsack in the water, and also from the rest of the stuff in and by the water.

thats one hell of a picture there, though the background could use more detail, like distant tree's or mountains. and i have NO idea how adam does his water. that shit is crazy, though i like your style too. i like the small ripples cause it shows theres motion but not disturbance. :)

I added some reflections, made it so you could see the mountains better and added a hedge/forest to the right of the sceen. I also messed with the shadows a bit. Do you think anything else needs changing or adding?

Here is the animated version

Guys, I just spent like the last 6 hours working on making this rim from scratch. It was hard, but I think my work paid off, as I finally made a rim in which the mesh flows together seemlessly.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave some comments. Click here for the HIGH QUALITY non-cropped version.

I'm not big on cars and the like, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate some good work none the less. Out of the whole thing, what really caught my eye is where the spokes meet the actual rim. That's always where people get lazy and screw up the whole thing, but yours is absolutely flawless! Your 3D models really are outstanding, and this is no exception.
Great work, keep paying attention to that little detail you always do!
For the sake of constructive criticism though, not that it detracts at all from your work, I'd kind of expect there to be a bead of weld on the inside of the rim.

Lol, not now, if I ever do. I'm too busy working on these cars and school.

I can't tell you how happy I am that you noticed that. That's what made this model really take so long... I created the entire thing polygon by polygon (before I smoothed it) rather than the usual method which is to just mass-produce the model from curves.

Your 3D models really are outstanding, and this is no exception.

Thanks!

Thanks, and I will!

Hmm, I'd have to see a real rim up close in person to see what it's like... it's hard to get good reference images for things like that online.

Do something about that head/face of his, and I'd actually like it quite a bit. What exactly, I don't know, but the 2D on the 3D (pseudo) body doesn't feel right at all the way I'm looking at it

which is upside down in a bucket full of water...

Overall though, I could even overlook that one part and just tell you that I like it enough as it is

but still work on it some more.

Oh, sorry (double post) but I forgot a point of criticism that I think is really important.
The way I see it, that character is a ghost and it'd just look a whole world better if you drew the arms so they were hanging lifelessly by his sides instead of looking like they were swaying as if he were walking.
Only my opinion though, take it for what it is and do whatever you want.

Not sure if you've checked out any of the tutorials hosted here on NG yet, but there are some pretty great resources once you know where to look:
http://www.newground../flashtutorials.html

If you want something a bit (significantly actually) more comprehensive though, I can't recommend getting this book enough!
Animators Survival Kit
It's worth every cent if you're serious about animating.

Again thanks For the opinion

Anytime! I guess that's what we're all here for (when we're not showing off ourselves!)
But really, do whatever feels right for you as far as your art is concerned. Any of us can only offer suggestions.
