I need your opinions. See, I'm starting up an online magazine, and I need to know if this cover I made looks good.

How are my photoshopping skills?

You're title font needs a better design. That font is so uninteresting, I almost didn't look at the rest of it.

Also, all of your sub-article pictures only seem to hover in the corners...bring them more out into the body.

Its a little blah it needs more variation in the size and face of the font- and its a little to bright everything just kinda blends together. The pictures at the bottom look like they were cut out and glued on.

The following sentence is true. The previous sentence is false. O_o PARADOX!

Right. It doesn't ensnare your attention.

It just looks funny that not all the pictures are the same brightness and the pixels don't match up well.
Other than that it's not that bad.

Maybe you should be going for something really bold and large for the main Topic somewhere in the middle, lowerish and all the sub-topics come somewhere down right or down left corner like all in a column like sub-topic (ex. Star wars) and right under it another one, all close together and bold font

If you're gonna make an online mag, don't steal copyrighted pictures.

The font needs to be moved away further from the border.
You need a more interesting font than what looks like Arial.
There's some annoying white space at the bottom.

You might be able to put the sub-topics in boxes, seperate from the background to get it away from (as another user accurately described it) looking like they were cut-out and pasted on.

Also, vary up the fonts and their colors just a tad. Give it some appropriate flair.

Ooooh, another good point.

To get around it, umm...draw them?

Your fonts need some work and you shouldn't crop a part of a photo out and put it in the foreground. It looks sloppy.

Not really. The background sucks and doesn't match the foreground well. I suggest just having a plain background and 1 simple picture in the foreground. Make sure you have text go under the picture in the foreground.

Meh, the design itself is okay, but the presentation is bland and uninspiring.

No, it's still crappy. The main focus in this one is the giant moon.

Use a simpler background, have larger text for main subjects to catch viewer's attention, and make the main picture stand out. Just think to yourself -- if I saw this on a newsstand, would I buy it?

You know, I just had an idea.
Why don't you ask for someone to help you with the artwork and layouts in the Art forum? You'd probably get better results.

Learning photography fundamentals is a big part of knowing how to catch the eye and make good magazine covers.

Like proper placement of objects to draw the eye to certain areas of the frame, and a background that successfully catches attention while allowing the eye to wander over the rest of the text (which needs to be flashy and variable).

It worse than before.

You are now breathing manually. You are now aware of your posture. You can now feel your clothes on your body. You now itch in various places.

Compare your magazine cover to a real magazine cover. You'll quickly find out your cover is bland, boring, unexciting, and unorganized.
