Those politics, religions, sports, and etc. etc. that you all bicker about upon no end...

A supercomputer could determine what laws should be enacted and enforced, versus which ones shouldn't be applied. All based upon best adherence to the following goal; 'To prevent as much subjectively significant suffering possible, and then to promote as much fair enjoyment possible'. They could do this better than any human(s), too, since they could compute the data faster and enact the legislation with more accuracy, reliability, and less time.

Please comment and question.

Then it goes insane and kills us all.

DOES NOT COMPUTE

[Needs more data]
Identify how much suffering it has, does, or will cause, and then identify how much enjoyment it has, does, or will cause. If the net total is negative enjoyment ( suffering ), then try to make it not exist as painlessly as possible, just make sure you're not causing more net total suffering in trying to make it not exist then it would feasibly ever cause.

And this is when the machines take over and we turn into batteries.

Yes. Have you listened to the album Replicas by Tubeway Army?

I also have to ask, what if the computer thinks that Negative Utilitarianism is the best approach?

Negative Utilitarianism is the shit. Except for that it will divide the shit equally to us all, making us all be affected by the shit, in such a small amount as possible.

So which means leaving out the ethical part of the act? You don't look at the situation and the intention of the deed, just the rules? learn2ethics
