This is a nice step forward to have a president actually acknowledge the importance of the internet and not blow it off as the lesser form of media.
I am looking forward to Obama's weekly youtube chats. He is a great speaker, and it will be interesting to see what he has to say now that he's not trying to win voters any more.

I love this idea, and I love its execution. It helps the average American keep up to date with what the Executive Branch is doing in an easy, non-painful, and common method. I'm pleased to see that President-Elect Obama's message to us is still the same (just delivered less eloquently), and I also look forward to listening to his addresses every week.

Again, this shows how much Obama is trying to connect with today's youth. The use of technology in his campaign really helped him, and I see him doing more during his term, starting with this, and moving on to bigger things.

This is a tremendous idea that harkens back to Roosevelt and I'm amazed that prior presidents never tried this with television really.
Like Obama or not, this is another of those moments where you have to take your hat off to the cleverness he and his people have employed in marketing him and the idea that he is going to be a president of the people (and until we see him actually in the job, that's what we've got here, marketing).

I just hope he isn't as bitter as Roosevelt, or short-tempered. I wouldn't mind him abusing FBI to spy on W Bush. :P It would make a good show.

I agree completely. I have been wondering why everyone has been comparing Obama to Kennedy when Obama's pioneering the use of newer media for political strength has Roosevelt written all over it.
Even if Obama does jack shit with his term, I think the country will improve greatly. Not nessesarily because of his policy, but because he empowers Americans to belive we are doing well, or getting better. I think this empowerment will cause a serious improvment in investor confidance and solidify America's superpower status.

I think it's a great idea, and even if Obama doesn't change the country all that much, this is a way to help close the gap between us. To bring us together with a common and universal tool is brilliant.

I think it's a great idea, feels more personal and maybe it will get people more involved in goverment.
