Dull, tedious and scraps fun for the sake of realism.

Play Vice City instead. It's the last GTA that keeps everything nice and simple. You're either in a mission, or you're not. Not worrying about phone calls, keeping in shape, girlfriends or any of that rubbish. Just doing missions, or going mental.

Its also short, the city is small, and it has a little to do besides from the main story.
You don´t have to worry about keeping in shape or girlfriends in the other games either, thats optional stuff.

The story was too long, and got boring about 1/2 way in.

In San Andreas, you had to stay in shape by eating, because if you ran a lot he got too thin, and if you ate too much, he got too fat. It effected how fast he could run and whatnot.

GTA 4 has less of and RPG element than San Andreas and less of those pointless little gimmicks that made all the other games hilarious.

But if you like presentation and story then GTA 4 is very much for you. The story and the voice acting is simply put outstanding. Plus the game is also very polished and the physics engine is extremely cool.

It was not too long, the missions had so much variety. I´m sure most people didn´t find it boring.

I didn´t have to worry about keeping in shape at any point of the game. I only went to the Cluckin´bell when i was low on health, i never got too skinny or fat.
I do agree that keeping in shape is an useless feature to have since its not Sims, but it wasn´t really a nuisance to me either.

This game has its ups and its downs. Up are the glitches, Graphics, cheats in the phone, and storyline. Downs are the lack of offroad terrain, cant swim underwater, and no car or character custimization. All and all, id give this game a 4/5.
in case ur wondring i was comparing this to san andreas.

Fucking idiot.

Some missions require character customisation.

I think he meant how like in Saints Row where you start off in character creation.

But R* went for more realism in GTA IV so there was no jetpacks for example, and no land wasted on nothing, but it was a good game.

(Insert witty remark about cock jokes).

Whoopdy fucking doo, 3 different clothing stores to choose from. Tasteless track jackets, sunglasses that magically disappear after every mission, and business suits. Thats some awesome customisation options.
They didn´t have an excuse not to make character customisation equally as good as in San andreas, or better. And the way you´re forced to change your clothes in some missions is pretty annoying.

When you know they could make a really good movie out of a video game because the story line totally kick ass and the dialogs are awesome... You know that the game is VERY VERY good

If the clothes you wear are more important to you than gameplay, you should go inject yourself with AIDS, and fucking slit your throat on Christmas Eve, you fucking limp dicked cocksucker.

GTA IV is a good buy, it just gets extremely boring once you beat it.

I didn´t say that customisation is more important than gameplay, mr Scarecrow.

You are always forced to change clothes in GTA games. I recall missions in GTA San Andreas where you needed suits and a valet tuxedo. And in Vice City, you needed new clothes too for some missions, you fucking nitwit.

So then all the GTAs have the same problem. Its ok if you´re infiltrating a police station and you need a cop uniform, but i don´t see why you need a smart suit and a tie to rob a bank.
Not a major problem, but pretty annoying sometimes.

It's not a completly terrible game but it lacks a lot of features that are common in not only other sandbox style games, but previous GTA titles. It's also dragged down with lots of tiny features that are just unfun and generally annoying.

Content wise, you're better off playing either of the Saints Row games.
