It seems to be happening a lot latey.
After a movie is blammed, the author just reposts it in the portal, as if something will change. They usually change the name, thinking they can fool anyone, or maybe they'll just change their username. (I'm looking at you, Brumer.) Isn't there any way to keep crappy flash from being reposted?

If it's a free blam point, blow the whistle.
Otherwise, that is what the 0 button is for.

one definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect different results.

If someone keeps re-submitting the same movie, you may blow the whistle as "Malicious" Just be sure to say why you blew the whistle.
I just helped clear out a fatty-eye thing that was being resubmitted :P
The guy submitted it 3 times so far today...

That movie was what caused me to start this. Not the only one I've seen... but kind of the last straw, I guess.

Like I said, if he re-submits it again, then blow the whistle as "Malicious" you wont be the only one. Wade has a new policy on "free blam points" and people who spam stuff that keeps getting blammed.

It seems like these infants who submit the retard shit flash, like they think the voters made a mistake or something. far be it from them to step back and realize that the movie being theirs does not make it less crap.

Yeah that's cool, the thing is, if you whistle spam as malicious, you get a blam point and a whistle point ;-)
(providing it is spam)

I thought you could only submit twice per day? Sorry, I'm nitpicking.
As for pointless resubmissions, let the fools have their fun, and let us revel in their so obvious stupidity in their expectations.

The only thing that will change is the score - it'll be even worse as people will think "zero" a split second after thinking "resubmitted".

You know, it might be worth considering making it so that if an author's uploaded a movie that's been blammed in a day, they can't submit anything more that day. The way it's currently set is so that they can't upload if they've already had two blammed movies or uploaded two other movies in a day (this is for flood protection).
Surely if an animation that gets blammed, in most cases, wouldn't last again unless there were some major changes to the animation and that, in most cases, would probably take more than a day... What does everyone else think?

Sounds like a very good idea, it'll cut out people submitting the same thing twice.
Another thing you might want to consider is not allowing people to submit if they've got a submission currently under judgement, to try and cut down on people accidentally (or otherwise) submitting something twice. Just a thought.
here we go again just blow the whistle

Well that would work to stop people just submitting crap they made in 5 minutes, just for the sake of making something. But then again, it depends on what type of crap it is that gets Blammed. In some cases a movie may be blammed for a reason that has nothing to do with the quality of the flash, the voters may have a grudge against the artist, and in that case it wouldn't be fair to stop them submitting again. It does happen, but not as much as movies getting blammed because they are just simply crap. So i'd say i'm in with the idea....

Definately the only thing that would help that movie gt through judement, is if the artist(s) made some major changes, it's not gonna get through simply on a fluke majority of good votes. So yeah, if they were botherd about it getting through, they would put atleast a day or more into it...
The worst member.

You must have db records of blammed flash submissions. There are sincere attempts that don't survive and there are those blatant attempts to waste everyone's time.
If you were to query all the blammed movies I'll wager that there is a peak near zero and another near 1+. Those contributors that consistently return results near the zero end of the spectrum are most likely sumbitting intentional crapppy flash.
Perhaps therein lies where additional submission rules need to be.

Hrm... The only problem with that is that some authors sometimes work on two projects side by side and then release them together - there have been a few like that in the past, I love egg episodes being one example that springs to mind.... Worth experimenting with, though.

Yeah, out of the 80,613 graveyard entries, 11,999 entries have a score of less than 0.2 and 16,657 have a score of between 0.8 and 1.2. So there are definitely quite a few that have almost made it into the Portal and a large chunk have either been diabolical or free blam point movies. Anyone who consistently gets scores of lower than 0.2 should probably be the people we start targetting. If people are regularly getting scores that low, then they're not getting any better at their work or they're just submitting free blam point movies regularly.

I think the system here is the best on the net, here at NG, but for spammers, there should be a whistle button that if enough people use it, a person cannot submit anything for a week or so

I like the idea where people can only submit one at at time, and that's it for the day if their first one was blammed.
