So, who do you think is the most respected comedian going today? A comedian you have alot of respect for or a comedian you think is respected by others in his/her profession.
In my opinion, I'd say David Mitchell is one of the most respected comedians I've seen.
The reason being is that it seems he always comes up with valid arguements on comedy panel shows and they listen to what he has to say with full attention and he's just really funny anyway.
The future is forever changing by the actions of the present and thoughts of the past.
Russel Brand. Before that thing about fucking someones grand-daughter.
George motherfucking Carlin. The world turned upside down when he died. My parents loved him and that was YEARS ago when they first heard of him. He was still awesome after that.

That reminds me. I need to watch that holiday thing Dunham is gonna have on sunday. Lewis black is funny too. I have his book, "Nothings Scacred". Good reading. They're well respected too. Carlin even respected Black. That just goes to show how much he's loved.

lol Jeff Dunham?
I met Brian Regan, He's pretty respected, but he said Jeff is an asshole.
Like they were on tour, and they got condos, and Jeff made the tour directors get a separate condo for his puppets.
Don't know about respected, but I have always enjoyed Jack Dee, his grumpy humour A) reminds me of a mate of mine and B) cracks me up every time.
Also, Simon Amstell, NMTB has me in stitches!
Jeff Dunham. He has had 2 comedy central specials in as many years, and he has another one coming out tomorrow so he will have 3. Somebody obviously thinks he's hilarious.
A former rebellion is just a present conformity

Jo Brand, because she's a female comedian, who is actually funny.
That's enough for the respect of anyone.

Most of the public, for one.

carlos: are u fucking kidding me?
lewis black: no.
jerry seinfield is famous as fuck, but ur not meant to take comedians seriously.
Only black is true, only death is real.
Bill Bailey or (more probably) Eddie Izzard. I never hear anything bad about bailey, and Izzard is just incredably well renowned.
Most respected: George Carlain,Mitch Hedburg, Demitri Martan.
Least respected: Carlos Mencia

Kudos to you sir, or picking amazingly funny men! I swear, if Bailey came back to Buzzcocks and Izzard was a guest, I would record and NEVER stop watching. Oh, the lulz, teh pure lulz...

He's very funny but not that well respected.
He's going to find that pesky Osama Bin Ladin, as soon as he figures out what's wrong with his binoculars.

Oh so true my man. One time on the NMTB, this rocker guy told Bailey that no one would piss on him in the street because he's too ugly. The crowd went silent because nobody ever disrespects Bill.
DURR HURR
I'd say Jerry Seinfeld, hes one of the greatest comedians ever, and I dont think ive ever heard someone they didnt like him. He didnt really change the way stand up comedy worked, but he's just plain funny
