Did I under react or overreact?

I was walking out of a class today with my girlfriend and we walked past a group of about 11 mexicans (other students). She said "man I need to use the bathroom" and one of them said "Ehy ill come wit you"
So I turned around and said, what the fuck did you just say? He was like "what whitey" and I dropped my bag and started to walk towards him and was going to throw a punch but my girlfriend stopped me and made me move on. As we were walking away all 11 started whistling at her and saying "nice ass" to my girlfriend, probably to piss me off, but we just continued.

My girlfriend said I protected her well, but I felt like I didn't do enough.
Did I overreact or under react, in your opinion?

You overreacted. But, then again, she would have felt uncomfortable if you didn't say anything, and then you would have under-reacted. Put a smile on your face, your woman is better than what any of those Mexicans will ever get.
