Seriously, for such a major, well-developed site. I would expect the forum to have an edit feature handy just in case you ever make some grammatical mistakes or want to rewrite something. It's almost a requirement, I hate having to resort to double-posting.
So please..... Add on an edit feature, it is desperately needed....

you're about the ten millionth one to complain about it. if people are able to edit their posts, they would certainly abuse it. if you're picky about mistakes, then double check your posts.

Yeah I figured, but that's a ridiculous excuse. Seriously, if you're going to run a forum you should be able to import all essential features regardless of guaranteed trolling and misbehavior. Just apply consequences to the ones who abuse it like you would for any other reason.

Yeah I figured, but that's a ridiculous excuse. Seriously, if you're going to run a forum you should be able to import all essential features regardless of guaranteed trolling and misbehavior. Just apply consequences to the ones who abuse it like you would for any other reason.

links and images are easier to spot. if someone abuses the edit feature, a mod has to check it before he/she could take proper actions. way too much work and they're doing it for free. think about things before you start preaching about it.

I don't really see how you can abuse an edit system in the first place, everything you're saying doesn't make much sense and is illogical. There are plenty of smaller forums, with less mods that possess and edit feature and function fine....

omfg. smaller forums...this is not a small forum. smaller forums are easier to manage. this place has hundreds of topics created every day so it's a hundred times harder to manage them all. if you don't know how an edit feature can be abused then you don't even have to right to discuss the situation

Alright, but don't you see the lack of logic in what you're saying? If it's a larger forum it should have a lot more mods and therefor the high amounts of activity and users shouldn't pose as an issue because in counter to that there should be many more moderators.
But meh, this little debate is retarded. I just wanted to know why there isn't one. I'm out...

Easy. Just edit posts you made some weeks or months ago to some profanities.
Or flame other people and when they complain to a mod just edit out those flames.
Also, this forum has run all these years without an edit button. And we (well, at least I ;) ) really don't need one.
Just double check your postings and you'll be fine.
Also also you shouldn't worry too much about typos or grammatical errors. Most of the time the other users will still know what you meant. ;)

If you don't like that, go to one of those other forums you were talking about and post there instead. Nobody is forcing you to stay here. The rest of us have managed to post perfectly well on this forum for years without it becoming a problem for us, so I don't see why you can't do the same.
