I suggest a Wacom tablet. After a little research, I believe the graphire wireless would best suit your needs. Be warned: if you're bad at drawing on paper, it will not make you a better on the computer.

All programming problems can be solved with Arrays!

agreed i myself have a cintiq 12wx and it doesn't improve you drawing skills one bit . so if you suckoxres at the artsorz then getting a tablet wont change anything imo

Never found adapting to a tablet too hard, I started doing some basic FBF loops like a wolf howling when I got to borrow it for a few days.

But still, don't expect it to be the same as paper. If you suck at paper, you really won't go far with a tablet.

Wrong. I got mine for 5$ + Shpping. And it's brand new and works perfectly. I got lucky I guess.

It's good to read the description of an item before bidding.

it depends on what you are using the tablet for, if you are drawing directly freehand on a tablet it wont make a difference to your skill and unless you are a serious artist or drawing for print you dont really need the angle detection, high pressure sensitivity and high DPI of more expensive tablets, it would honestly be wasted on a hobbyist. when i got my first tablet a few years ago i got a cheapie A5 for £35 just to see whyat it was like and i once i knew i could work with it i spent more money on my next and so on...

people also seem to forget that you can use a tablet for more than freehand drawing, the biggest strength of a having a tablet is for use with the pen tool (probably the most ueful tool on any graphics software), it makes it so damn intuitive !

I got some no-name company's 8" x 6" tablet - here - off of woot for about $30.

I suck dick at art, so I can't tell if it's bad or not. For what I've used it for though, it's pretty rad.

That's just a mater of preference, but I'm betting you've hardly used your tablet. A few hours at max. Don't use your mouse. Unplug it and stick it in a cupboard for a week and use your tablet instead. That way you'll pick up how to use it effectively really quickly and it'll become much more natural when using it. Once you get used to it, you'll notice the difference.

And read the feedback other users have given on the person you're buying it from. It's still probably best to buy a new tablet.
