I say lets ban inter racial marriage. I mean it isnt any thing different.

Now I am not against inter racial marriage, but I figured hey what the heck. Banning things seem to be the new fad.

We take civil liberties from one group, why not others. I mean there is no fact that gay marriage is wrong, it was just people's opinions on it, but they felt that the world should be how they want it.

So why not. It isnt anything different. Lets ban inter racial marriage. People used to think it was wrong. So if people have an opinion on something, it must be a fact, that is what the passing of prop 8 has shown me.

So lets ban it, I know that some people are actually against it, and we cant have anyone not happy, except the ones being victimized by the ban. No to inter racial marriage.

If you happen to fall in love with someone of a different race, that's one thing. However, to actively and exclusively pursue interracial relationships, make me sick. Whatever happened to having standards and looking to find the best person you can find? whatever happened to self respect to allow someone to marry some worthless piece of scum that has no hopes or aspirations of improving his social status? I'm not saying that all blacks are like this. There used to a ban on interacial marriage, and the same things they say now about gay marriage are the same things they said about interacial marriage.

Because their opinion is against it, they think that it should be a law. They dont like it so they want to end it.

I understand where you're coming from, but comparing the races to same sex marriage is a difficult one to understand. The 'problem' with gay marriage is that in the Bible, there is a specific commandment in the Old Testament, and a direct quotation from the Lord Jesus Christ that shows his opposition to homosexual relations. Interracial marriage is natural, with the product of such marriages being a child, which homosexual marriages cannot produce.

California also has experienced what a state with homosexual marriages deals with when such a decision is made. So when the vote was carried out, I guess the only conclusion is that the people got what they wanted.

Actually you won't be the same even with it. genes don't exactly blend like liquids. you will still have genes from the parents, which do not mix. when makin a baby, you pass on half your genes to the offspring, which you actually CAN pass on all or none of one of your parents' genes. If your genes did blend then all of your children would be perfect copies of each other.

It is different. Interracial marriage is merely one type of marriage between a man and a woman. Its natural propagation of the species.
Gay marriage is the marriage between people of the same sex, that many people see as unnatural.

I have gay friends and see no problem with gay marriage, I just don't agree with your argument.

The problem with this comparison though, is that current discrimation laws hasn't been applied to sexual identity.

Race, color, gender, national origin yeah sure. But sexual identity hasn't been applied to current Civil Rights legislation. So, until it does, States do have the ability to ban it.

You touched on an interesting and important point.

We can't expect to control certain groups and allow others to do as they wish freely... There is nothing wrong with gay marriages because we can't prove it, on the other hand we could say well then why don't we ban all marriages - take into account the amount of divorce etc. we can't do that with gay marriages because there just isn't enough facts with the fact that they are all BANNED!

People need to start realising they can't stop everyone from doing things they want to do... do people not believe anymore that individuals are responsible for themselves?
