For the love of god, if you get the choice, pick mechanics over statistics at A-Level. It's the most painfully boring subject you'll ever take. It's nothing like at GCSE, it's just really long, and really boring, and not even particularly easy. I had to take both since I choose to do the accelerated course (full A-level in one year, with statistics and mechanics as applied modules, as opposed to full A-Level in two years, with decision maths and your choice of mechanics and statistics as applied modules) and it's the worst thing I've ever had to sit through. It's not maths, it shouldn't be taught in it.
