Anyone have the first GCSE paper tomorrow? Don't know what to expect, all I know is that it is 2 papers, 20 minutes each, worth a measly 20% of my final maths or statistics grade.

GCSE Maths was piss. I don't remember it being modular, though, I think mine was just one test at the end. Might be wrong, definitely didn't have any 20 minute papers though, all longer ones.

I'm 19 now, and next week I have a GCSE maths test again. lmao.

I'm in the top set so we have too, anything lower than a A and I am disappointed. Also, it is 29/30 for A* anything lower is A-C.

I've got my GCSE mocks next week. I don't mind the tests themselves, just can't be arsed to sit around and wait for them to get here.

Also, note to people doing statistics and finding dead easy at GCSE:

For the love of god, if you get the choice, pick mechanics over statistics at A-Level. It's the most painfully boring subject you'll ever take. It's nothing like at GCSE, it's just really long, and really boring, and not even particularly easy. I had to take both since I choose to do the accelerated course (full A-level in one year, with statistics and mechanics as applied modules, as opposed to full A-Level in two years, with decision maths and your choice of mechanics and statistics as applied modules) and it's the worst thing I've ever had to sit through. It's not maths, it shouldn't be taught in it.

I have my mocks in a few weeks. Maths is my weakest subject. :(

The tests are always much easier than what we do in class, so I usually come out OK.

Nope, apparently our year (Year 10) are the last group in our school to do the statistics coursework, which is going to be fucked because I'm behind on my Art and Design coursework and English already.

GCSE maths was actually quite easy. I'm appaling with numbers but got a nice healthy C, which is what I needed to get into college.
just do a bit of revision and don't be a fool and I assure you the passing grade isn't a problem.

My only problem is remembering things like spearmans rank and all the graphs to use and what not.

Although I can't do THAT bad so.

in all the mock exams and specimen papers I've done they haven't even mentioned spearmans rank, so you shouldn't even have to remember it, unless you come from wales where it's probably different.

Then we did things on cubes and edges, faces, and corners

After doing it, I can thoroughly conclude that it was piss easy.
I finished both of the paper in under 5 minutes.
But, I think that because I thought it was easy, I've failed it.

I got an A in Maths.

I can't do maths much any more. Funny how it goes. I knew I wasn't ESPECIALLY good at it at GCSE level, anyway; I could just pay attention.
