Although, I was getting awfully suspicious when you said your tracks were all studio made O_o.... If there was one artist that I looked up to on NG, it was you. I always admired (and coveted) your ability to make tracks for almost every situation and competition on NG, your ability to consistently finish projects, your extremely versatile talent as a composer, with your price tag quality classical and trance tracks. FUCK MAN!
This sums up how I'm feeling pretty well.
Quite a few people over the past few months have admitted to stolen music, or have been exposed by someone else, but this easily hits me the hardest - I respected you for what you did. I did have my suspicions, because you couldn't lower your own bitrates and wouldn't name any DAWs or synths. To the best of my knowledge you never really included criticism on the production aspects of a track in your reviews either. The answer was right in front of me, just like it was with technodude79, who I suspected from the start. I guess I just believed what I wanted to this time, especially as I got to know you better. :(
zellers put project files up for download. From the first time he did that I never once suspected him, but after him, and now you, I really don't know who to trust, and I'm sure nobody else does either. What's more, in losing you, the Trance community here loses another artist who knew what they were doing. One fewer role model for us all.

Q: What do I do if I discover stolen music in the Audio Portal?
A: Please report all stolen audio to Wade via the staff page. If a user is discovered to have uploaded stolen content our policy is to delete the account and all related submissions - no questions asked.
"No questions asked". In this case, Immune's the one who's contacting the staff to fess up though. However, a serial killer coming clean about his acts is a killer nonetheless and deserves the same punishment as a person caught redhanded.

Might wanna rethink that last one thar Karco.
Honestly, couldn't care less. There will be a couple days of e-drama, your material will forever be erased off NG's servers, and your iconic reputation disappears with you.
Moving on.

What I wonder though is...why? What's up with all those confessions lately!? I simply can't understand the motivation of upload "stolen" material.
It only leads to bad feelings on the uploaders side. You may gain a bit of respect by it but in the end, the tower falls and with you the gained respect.
Suicide is no answer and no excuse. You can't take things back but you CAN look into the future. Take the chance, come clean with yourself and if you're ready, come back and stay honest with yourself...and if you do. Give me a shout out via pm. Others have been given a second chance, so why shouldn't you become one as well?
Anyways, take care and good luck!
I agree with you here 100%. It's so much better that you came clean yourself. Although it sucks that you won MACs with stolen submissions, I'd be willing to give you another shot. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you good luck, and I hope that you don't wander down this path again. :D
There's no excuses for stealing, but you did a good job in admitting that and coming clean of your own accord.

I seriously never expected to not get my account banned, maybe they're letting me say my goodbyes or something, but punishing me is what needs to happen. While I would liek to still have this account to keep posting here in the forums, I don't expect the Admins/Mods to find me an acception to all the other people who have stolen music.
I don't expect you guys to like me anymore for what I've done either. I appreciate the words you guys are sending my way, but I AM a bad person for doing this.

If I had control of the AP, everyone who stole something would be banned from uploading music and have all their current uploads deleted. I don't care whether it's a newb or a reg - if you claim something is yours that isn't, you're going down.
I understand why you did it, it still gives you no right to do it.

He was a role model before he confessed, to put it shortly his music was good and he was an active member of the Audio Portal. Having confessed to stolen material and left entirely, he's no longer a role model - unless you meant something else?

Moving on.
Considering how many people got to know him in the time he was here, and as many people have said, looked up to him, I doubt it could be as punctual as you have it there. We do have to move on, but this is hitting people a lot harder than "that really good guy whose music we've been listening to for a month or so now."

It's only natural to want attention, perhaps you went about finding it in the wrong way. I don't really respect you as an artist anymore, but I still do as a person because you had the guts to come out with it unlike, for example, technodude79, who did everything he could to keep the attention people were giving him.
It's extremely disappointing to come home, log on, and get messaged by three people simultaneously with this news, no less right after zellers was found out. But I refuse to consider you a bad person - there are people I know who I can't respect no matter what, and the way you act and have acted about this, you're not one of them.

I was referring to the trance community losing somebody who knew what they were doing. I'm pretty sure he doesn't ;D.
And Karco if you think I can move on so quickly because I didn't like immune you are gravely mistaken. I held those orchestral as well as trance songs in very high regard. I was even considering him being the next king of the orchestral section *it's not me, I can name off 30 people who are better then me, but I thought he would be person 31*.
Quite frankly I refuse to let this impact me. It's really that simple. He fessed up, his stuff is removed, in a matter of weeks at best his name will only linger in the chasm that is my head.
Immune's story ended here. Here's hoping he turns to a new book soon.

All I can say is that you do have talent. You just put it to misuse. But I would still like to see you come back and make more music of your own.

Understood, though it's I don't believe it's necessarily a bad thing to be disappointed when someone you look up to ends up as Immune has. :\ It's important to get over things quickly but at the same time, you seem to be treating Immune (who was an active member of the community) like some random user out of the AP Cleanup thread, which he isn't.
A good, respected friend of yours suddenly gets expelled from school after admitting on his own to having cheated on several tests and exams. You might lose a fair amount of your respect for this friend, but do you erase him from your mind as completely as possible?

Not sure if I hope so or not after this, actually. It's difficult to trust anyone, let alone you, after this (and zellers for that matter) - I do hope you start making music as an honest artist though, and whether it'll go on NG or not will be up to the admins I suppose.

So... you stole music and gained $$$ off of it... did you give the money to the person you stole it from cuz if you did... I'm not going to be REALLY mad at you but ... if you did... GIVE IT TO THEM NOW!

There's a point that hasn't been crossed yet. To those who have ever been influenced or inspired by Dj-Immune, would you really be at the same place you are with music, right now if Immune never stole those songs and you never heard them. Immune was my main influence in music, it was basically him who influenced me to make progressive trance so, you think about. If Immune never did this, how many people wouldn't have gotten that inspiration they needed to become better artists?
I'm not saying that stealing is right. It isn't right by any means but what Immune did, had it's positive side.

Wow.. sucks to hear this. Just like Zellers though.. Immune.. you should definitely try to come back with your own stuff after a while. Also.. you have helped influence the site in a lot of positive ways.. even if you went the wrong way about it. On that note.. although the "prizes" won't be there anymore.. Trancegiving should go on as planned, because it is a good idea.
On another note... anyone else? So many people being found out or coming out on their own with stolen music.. if anyone else here is.. might as well say it. This would be a good time for everyone to get a fresh start.
These strings of disappointment are teh suckzorz. ='[

sad days.
I measured myself to you and Zellers to improve my stuff. So in a way i thank you for making me think that amateurs can compose such good stuff cause it inspired me to be better.
All i ever wanted was to be good enough to make it to best of the week for once.

I wonder where the money went, then. Was it passed down the line to the next winner, or did Newgrounds just keep it all?

well this is pretty shocking. I mean, thats a shitload of music to have stolen.
Personally, I've got no hard feelings against you. I've been in the state you were in when you decided to do this, and at that point you'll do anything to find solace. Like LE said, his music inspired a lot of people, he never took money, and we all enjoyed having him around, so I don't think we need to shun him or anything. The only real problem was the stolen music, and now that its deleted, I think we can move on.
A heavy bassline is my kind of silence.
Enjoy progressive house? Then listen to my song.

This thread is really funny. I was never a fan of "your music" and I hope you feel really bad about stealing from other artists.

Allow me to translate.
My friend,
In all seriousness, why in the blazes do you engage in actions such as this? Perhaps you have fooled everyone in this fine community, but you could not fool yourself. Again, I must restate my question. Why have you done this? I mean this in all honesty when I say that there are only two things in this world that cause me such a high degree of displeasure. One of these being the act of illegally procuring goods, and the other... the other is that which you have done now. Though I will say that, what you did took quite an amount of courage. I am still in awe.
