If it's a scratch then they can be repaired.
I think cracks can be repaired, but the game would still probably not work anyway.

I know scratches can.

Oh well fuck it, looks like I`ll have to wait until xmas to get it, and throw my other copy away.

Catridge games arent available on the PS3.
Go buy a new copy with cash, put the broken one in and return it. Or go rent it and buy that insurance you can get incase it breaks, then switch it with your broken copy.
You should totally add me on one of my various game accounts:

Damn straight. I should do that with every disk that breaks.

Thats why we download the good ol' games on the PSS.
The stupid way to fix a broken disk is to weld it together with a cigarrete lighter. XD

Wow.

I thought Gamestop only gives you a new copy if it's already opened, and only cash returns on unopened items. The same policy applies with EB Games, I think, since they seem to have connections together. Also, if it's from another source then I wouldn't know. Normally, I get my games from Gamestop and sometimes BestBuy. However, I think BestBuy lets you return opened stuff for a full refund.

To fix a crack you would have to peel apart your disk, and weld the plastic together with plastic solder carefully with a small tipped soldering gun, then super-glue the peices of plastic back together.

THis is why I say that we need to switch to some sort of cartridge like device, like a SD card, only bigger.
You're screwed. Show your brother not to do it again by attaching the cracked disc to his ear. That'll learn him.

Dude, how about you kill your brother?
After that's all said and done, go grab yourself a copy of Silent Hill Homecoming. You'd be surprised at the irony that you're looking for your brother (who's actually dead!)
Then you'd have to select one of the five endings!
