Most collab organizers I've seen extend the deadline once or twice. It's only natural.

That's weird, oh and I have another suggestion. You should make it so that when he touches the ceiling, whatever variable controlls how much the guy falls equal zero. This would make it so the shoopface immediately falls when he hits the ceiling. If you want him to bounce off the ceiling, make it multiply by negotive one when he hits the ceiling.
