Back when I was young and NES ruled (yeah I'm an old geezer) my first favorite was probably Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers, for two big reasons. The first is it supported two players simultaneously so there was none of that taking turns crap. The second is it was the first game I could actually beat.

The first game i've ever properly enjoyed was Donkey Kong Country 2 I think that it was quite great around the time especially using the computer generated graphics in 2d animated gifs that was like a amazing amount of detail i've seen in every level and it goes along for the gameplay and music it self.
It Took me till I was about 7

It depends on where in childhood you mean. As a young child (5-6), I enjoyed Mortal Kombat, but later, around 11, I was introduced to The Legend of Zelda, and got hooked on that. And of course, you can't leave out the influence of Tetris on a young me.

Hmmm... Nintendo put out a lot of titles for the NES.

You wouldn't happen to be thinking about this game would you?

Sonic the Hedgehog for the Genesis. I was only 5 or 6 at the time but that opened up a whole new world for me. It was one of the first video games I ever played, along with Mortal Kombat. I actually learned how to play the games, but I also knew the cheats, tips, secrets, and shortcuts. I would cry because I could never get past the water level and the rising water jingle scared me. It still does to that day. My mom could get to the space level and Dr. Eggman would kill her, so I'd cry some more.

good times.

Drop me a PM to talk about junk, serious or silly.

I grew up with those older then me. So I don't even remember a time that I didn't play video games. But I digress. The first I remember ever enjoying was either Super Mario World or Super Mario Allstars. Then the first handheld game was Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.

Prepare for unforeseen consequences.

Pokemon stadium 2 with my uncle was awesome when I was a kid. Especially the mini games, they never got old.
