Are you kidding? The US is the worlds biggest super power. With this recession, how Obama handles the economy is incredibly important. Northern Rock, last year, had to ask the govt for a loan to bail them out, and for reasoning they cited weakness in the US subprime mortgage lending market. The US is the biggest economy in the world, and to ignore it would be retarded.

I also care because I'm interested in the world around me. I was interested in the political riots in Burma last march, I'll never be affected by anything forseeable that goes on there. I was in interested in Lewis Hamilton winning the F1, though that'll never affect me. Etc, etc, etc.

It would be pretty hard to do as bad a job as that. People who are saying that Obama is going to ruin the country forget so easily about all the shit Bush did and look at the situation we're in now.
